There's one key word here that might be the biggest problem Obama has. "Ending", Obama is seen as the man who will resolve all the problems of this nation and the world in a single term. I don't know about you but we have not been able to resolve most of our issues is some many years with as many presidents as we have had already, Obama is not special.
George Bush managed to end the Sudanese Civil War (ended with autonomy and an option for independence for Christian southern Sudan), the Liberian civil war, and Saddam Hussein's war against the Kurds in northern Iraq.
Whether you are for or against George Bush's actions, he did get things done.
Only three times in my life did I see a politician really change things in ways that affected me directly.
The first was when a red-green government was elected in my home city and state of West-Berlin in 1988 and the public transport system was expanded and they introduced a more transparent ticket system.
The second was when Lech Walesa's work paid off and the Soviet Union collapsed and the wall came down.
And the third was when the US invaded Iraq and a few years later (I didn't have the money earlier) I was able to visit the ancient region of Kurdistan where Abraham's people came from and where before the invasion I would have been gassed like the natives by Saddam Hussein's Nazis if I had shown up and introduced myself.
