Winning against Suicidal AI?

Winning against Suicidal AI?

I have tried many times fighting with suicidal AIs. I set for 9 ultimate AIs in a gigantic galaxy. I maxed out AI's CPU usage and the bonus ability points. The power balance seems waaaaay unfair. I kept rush-buying ships and managed to colonize about 7 planets (actually there are more than 10 planets, but some of them are extreme planets). When I see other races, they've already owned >13 planets. By 22 Oct 2227, my treasury is -2000 from the leases of the rush-bought ships. Any body have better strat against my scenario?

Actually it's totally safe to edit the customracexml files because if you screw them up all you have to do is delete them and that race will return to it's default. To get a new file just make a minor change to the race when starting a new game like leader name or other in-game race modification and the file will be recreated.

These files are all in the form

Altarian Resistance.customracexml and are located in your

My Documents\My Games\GC2DarkAvatar or

My Documents\My Games\GC2TwilightArnor directories.

Thanx again!

I may well have to do something like that.  That epic (for me!) game at Suicidal ended up in defeat, as I was unable to finish crushing the Terrans before they got the Research victory.  I had been sabotaged by the memory crashes several dozen turns earlier when one AI surrendered to me (I was not at war with them) and the game crashed at save.  Every time I re-ran it, that race would surrender to some other race, and not me, despite my trying perhaps 5 - 10 times to recreate the original surrender.  It was the Terrans they surrendered to, and I was already at war with the Terrans.

The Terrans had gone from maybe 60 up to 100 planets at that surrender, and I had crushed them down to about 30 when the Defeat screen appeared.  If I had gotten them to surrender to me, I think I could have intimidated the last two non-allied races into alliances.

<sigh>

One thing that is possibale is to trade the tecks you have with one civ for theres then take those and trade them for another civ for theres and so on.  If you have a good enough diplomacy and relation you can get all of the tecs the AI have
