I for one disapprove censoring the internet, even if it's 4chan.

They were not the only ones to block it.  (Its unblocked now btw)  There was an DoS attack (or some varient) using that server:

Why not just block out the whole site? Anything that spawns stuff like "So I heard u liek mudkipz?" Can't be good for the human race.

Hmmm... I dont see why there is so much disdain for 4chan. I have gone there a few times and frankly I did not see anything worthy of all the urban lore or political bull shit that is associated with it. Maybe I'm to jaded or simple to see it...

4chan is somewhat idiotic. This is even more true for /b/

But no way in hell should the internet be censored. People who support it should move to china and see how they like it there. Because that will be the future with all this surveillance and censorship.

85%+ of communications is filty junk anyway... so why not cell-phoning illegal content while dumping bills into trashcans down the street of anonimity. As soon as your faces get photographed for legal documents, you're bound to have a reputation demolished within minutes.

You'd try bothering with privacy concerns, you'd endup paying to secure it from criminals and they still bootleg your lives in dataform, phishing for passwords, spend *your* money to blast repetitive pubs on TeeVee & eventually, frame you for the costs.

I don't care for 4chan one way or the other, but the idea of an ISP being able to just block content like that, that disturbs me. I know they claim it has something to do with attacks, but still...

Curious, did they also block that other chan board?  Of all the chan boards, I'd figure that one would be the first.  I don't agree with blocking 4chan, but that other one... Yeah, I'd censor it.   There is just some shit that should never be tolerated.  And please, don't try to defend what I'm talking about if you don't know what goes on there.  4chan was right in purging them.
