Really early WIP

This may be a VERY ambitious project for my skills, but I think I'm going to attempt to create that Steam Punk Windowblind that someone requested a long time ago.  It's going to take a long time, because I'm going to have to learn a bunch of new Photoshop techniques, but what better than a project to learn those techniques and build new skills, right?  This is just a zygote of a start menu -- lots of stuff to learn and add, but I just thought I would toss it out here for any suggestions and ideas from my fellow skinners. (also...if you think this project is totally out of my league, I'd appreciate you letting me know that, too...gently, of course).

Do as much research as you can for steampunk related stuff.  It'll pay off in the long run.

That gets a WOW! from me. Is there any chance that you could show us what a window is going to look like?

I haven't touched the windows yet -- still working on the taskbar and buttons.  I'll probably get to the windows on Wednesday if the momentum keeps driving me.  Do you have any suggestions or things you would like when it comes to the window?

I'm pretty useless when it comes to suggestions, but I think using the frame on the start menu minus the gears and whirligigs might look pretty interesting. I love the colors. This really looks like a great leap forward for you. I hope that this turns into a suite.

I could make them move...It certainly wouldn't be as hard as making the feathers on my One Tribe blind -- gears can BE choppy, and they don't have to bend in the breeze.

I'll let you get a little further along, Karen. Then , when you're ready, send me some PSD's or whatever you have and I'll do my best to please. Gonna be a goodun'!!
