People celebrate their birthday every year(some of us more than once ). Why shouldn't the things and places we love get that same attention? We sometimes forget to celebrate these things outside of the standard 5, 10, or 100 year marks, and I think that's just rubbish, so happy and 308th Detroit!!!
I remember the tri-centennial.. I watched aretha belt out some songs shortly after some tribe or other hit a drum for a few minutes..
