Favor Points Frozen

Now I realize that there have been some problems with favor points but I need some help--I may be doing things wrong. My favor points (single player) wont go up or down, they are stuck at 210 but when I go to the achievements board I have 10 times that number but then if I start another game and attempt to buy a favor item my points are shown as 210 and I can't buy any of the good stuff. Am I doing something wrong or missing something?
