GC II galaxy size

Size matters. My feeling is the current Gigantic galaxy is too small. It feels like I often run into another race too ealry in the game. IIRC the max number of races in a game will be going up for GC II. Are there any plans for a bigger galaxy size to accomodate the increase? Thanks.

would be nice to have the option sometimes of developing more before colliding with neighbours.

Maybe we simply need a size above gigantic? "Epic"? "A wee bit big"?

Perhaps the option to use custom maps of any size (that your computer can handle of course), for those die hards who want something that takes days to play.

I suspect GalCiv II's gigantic galaxy will be roughly the same size. It will ultimately depend on performance though.

But i have a question. won't even the largest of galaxies be smaller, because of star systems now taking up whole sectors. U know with the planets being on the main map now. How will this be handled?

The sectors are going to be bigger than they were in Gal Civ 1.  We're going to play with the size of the sector, the number of possible stars, and the number of possible planets in it to get the best look/functionality out of it.
