It surprises me that so little discussion of this has occurred here. The true intent of BO cannot be more clear.
hey, Taltamir, I cannot find the bill online anywhere. Can I have a link?
NOTE: I am not suggesting that you are wrong. In fact, I am against this health care reform in the way that the dems are trying, I just wanna read the bill.
Thanks
Like the stimulus, they are trying to throw a fast ball so nobody has time to read it first. If it is so important, why the rush? Why the impulse buyer mentality? I see a big buyers remorse headache on the horizon, if this monster passes.
Actually, I don't know what kind of healthcare you think we have in Canada, but many of the elements you are showing up-here are already including in our healthcare system, and most of the elements that aren't are actually more private-healthcare oriented.
I'd like to know a little more about the private healthcare system that will be outlawed. Why those and not others? Is it because they are considered to be inadequate coverage, and don't want the people having those healthcare coverage not be left out of the new reform?
Everybody forced to have healthcare is a good thing, generally. It relieves much stress out of the population regarding their health, and if they are still going to get coverage even if you loose your job.
Off course, there are always details that need to be improved. Our healthcare system in Canada is far from being efficient, but nobody here is afraid of getting bankrupted because of an injury or sickness.
And now, the sumbitch doesn't even care what's in the damn bill, he just wants it passed. I'm getting more & more furious at these assholes who keep trying to get unread legislation shoved down our throats. I'm paying their asses to actually do their frickin jobs. It's been said that Washington is just Hollywood for ugly people, but I get a helluva lot more satisfaction out of Hollywood. If we don't throw all these incumbents out on their asses in 2010 (including the Republicans) there's no hope for this place.
Perhaps you are unaware of the meaning of the word forced Cikomyr:
To constrain to do or to forbear, by the exertion of a power not resistible; to compel by physical, moral, or intellectual means; to coerce; as, masters force slaves to labor.
Here's the definition of freedom and choice in case you forgot about that as well:
the condition of being free; the power to act or speak or think without externally imposed restraints
the act of choosing or selecting
Sounds like opposites to me, especially when most if not all Americans would rather have freedom and choice. Otherwise places like McDonalds, Walmart, Blockbuster and Best Buy would be pointless.
Everybody already has health care - you can go to any hospital in the country and be seen without regard to ability to pay and a physician will be obligated to see you as an outpatient for follow-up until that acute illness is resolved without regard to ability to pay. What's going to be forced on us is health insurance, or rather, higher taxes to pay for health care.
And some people said that slaves are "better off as slaves". Than again, the Democrats were always pro slavery.
These are links for the info, I do not have access to the full bill.

It gets worse. I think I'm going to leave the country, renounce my citizenship, then sneak back in. I'll be fixed for life.
I have one thing to say about his press con this evening: coughbullshitcough.
how about just using fake id like they do...
thats probably because she is old enough to be deemed "unproductive member of society due to age" and sentances to die via denial of care.
