Community on the Edge

Many many post on the forums are currently sinking into depression.  Cries that the developers have abandoned us.. that frogboy don't care.. or that demigods have been back shelved for newer projects.  These are specifically coming from the lack of feedback of any sort coming from SD or GPG.

lack of content combined with unfixed bugs and no ETA for any new patches has really stunted the communities growth. Along with other MOBA (Multiplayer Online Battle Arena) games coming out like LoL and HoN there has been a steady increase of regular forum posters saying their fairwells and goodbyes.

before it was really Frogboy that kept us going though the real painful months after release.  constant reminders and posts as well as good discussion in the journals really kept the communities spirits lifted until the release of V1.1 .  unfortunately for the majority of us, some of the more trolling posters really chipped away at Frogboy and since he's return form vacation we've seen little to no activity from his end.

sure we, as the community, complain and complain about content and bug... and no amount of this complaining will speed up production in any way, but it was always nice to at least have regular posts telling us all to STFU.  the silent treatments (or what ever this is) is currently not just hurting the Demigod Community but also driving people away from future releases of games.

all we are asking for is a little attention and a bit of a reminder that we have not been abandoned by SD or GPG.  without a healthy relationship between the dev's and the community this game does not have a very bright future, so to keep that from happening (which no one wants to see) we would really like to see some responces from the dev's to at least let us know they still care.

Sorry to disapoint any avid DG players out there, but the only good games for communities to advocate are open sourceand indie games. Corperations are always after the $, not creating something unique for a community to enjoy for a long time.

Relic are in the middle of gutting Dawn of War 2 through a massive patch in order to cater to the competitive crowd. Their game had fundamental issues (some of which are shared with Demigod) and they are fixing it not for the casual player who hardly noticed ripper swarms being ridiculous, but for the people who drive their community.

Most indie developers simply don't have the resources to constantly balance a game as well as fix bugs, and there are very few popular open source games. There are even fewer good ones...

(The ID back catalogue doesn't count =/)

You guys are aware, of course, that Frogboy actually told us that his involvement in the Demigod community would be lessened once the connectivity issues were fixed, right?

The connectivity issues are not fixed.

Yes they are.
If you're having issues, it's on your end and/or unique to your setup.
