Sins campaign: What would you like?

What would you like a sins campaign to be about?

I'd like a a campaign for each race, telling their back stories.

TEC: The story of how the trade federation was founded up to the exile of the Advent.

Advent: The story of there time spent in exile and how they became an empire

Vasari: The story of thier flight from their home worlds until they arived in trader space.

I would it would be cool if SoaSE had a campaign mode.  Maybe showing for the Vasari the Galaxy and there retreat from the Advent.  or Have a galactic veiw for each of the Empires.  For the TEC showing the slow process of changing trader ships to attack frigates and capital ships and slowly getting access to them.  Maybe place weapons you want onto the capital ships for each of the empires and some of the weapons change the abilities of the ship.

I'll have more ideas in a bit and I'll add them as I think of them.

You know, I don't know if that would work or not. I think I'd like a campaign that is set in it's present day where you could play either of the three and interact with the others within the galaxy, having many different outcomes, of course.

But, your above note, especially on the Vasari, has made me consider writing a story centerd around their flight from their homeworld and the unknown entity that is chasing them.

Considering that each game is a "campaign" in and of itself, I'm thinking something along the lines of the way supreme commander had it set up.  Start with a small solar system, expand it with more phase lanes to outer planets upon completing objectives, and then to multiple star systems.  You could have all types of scripted events with interactions between races, possible treachery, rebels, and what have you.  It would just be one game, but probably lasting 10 to 20 hours.

My thought was something episodic to set up the current war, and leaves room for more campaigns; to be added in further expansions. (Cause as long as the devs are releasing new content, I'll buy.)

What about a Starcraft styled "episode" system?

It would give a chance to show all perspectives in one grand story.

That could be interesting.

On a more technical note I'd like each race to get thier won unique flagship.  Heres what I'm Thinking...

1) First off, these ships are either at the end of the research tree (same as each race's super weapon), or need lots of research to fully upgrade (like space stations). They cost 2 (or even 3) command points and (at least 100) logistics plus a ton of resources. Each race can only have 1.

All 3 race's flagships would give a (latent) damage and defence boost to any fleet thier a part of.                                                                      Each race would get a culturally specific bonus as well. Think free culture and allegiance boost for the advent, Massive income improvement for the TEC, and improved repair rates and defensive structure damage output for The Vasari.

Each ship would also have normal abilities like other capital ships but be much more powerful in a fight.

This would be something Id like to see anyway.

Together I kind of show a glimpse into their flight and whatevers chasing them. A little bit. Publicities always nice ^_^ .

In the campaign they would have be either something you start with and tech up, or gained at the mid to endgame. Again it's just a thought.

Campaign... Just what this game was missing...

Also, I wish it was more personal. Where you get to make your own character, pick its looks quirks voices etc etc... Same with the captains of the ships you control.

It would be nice to see the worlds more upclose. Maybe even have some say on what goes on on their surface?

In campagn, I think we need to be focussed in managing a small part of the empire through the eyes of a ships captain. Having the ability to manage the ship entirely. Picking different equipment to use as you earn income and rank. As you probably already guessed, you would start as a captain of a small frig. Going up in ranks will let you command more ships besides your own. And of course getting a better ship for your self. Slowly gathering your strengths and abilities as your faction grows in size. Depending on what paths you take you might even discover powerful artifact-equipment for your ship. Or Maybe some artifact benefitting the empire resulting in higher rank and more ships under your command (you control only your flag ship directly)

Sounds good but it sounds like another game all together... X( Still... maybe there is some ways to implement without changing the gameplay...

Honestly the main thing about SoE, I wish it focused more on time and tactics than size of fleet... Making the capitals MUCH larger. Some feeling of epic. The fights taking much more than few shots. And planets actually felt proportional. (but Im just going off now lol)
