I am just curious: Impulse shows that RightClick was last updated in August of 2008. It is still not fully compatible with 64-bit operating systems, and has limitations in skinning since it utilizes bitmaps instead of allowing png's.

Based upon the forum post about ObjectDesktop 2010 found in the outside link above, Stardock has not given up on RC; or at least RC will be in the OD bundle.

But when will some updates come around? When can 64 bit users be uninhibited in their use, and skinners be able to use png's?

Just curious...

A wild guess of mine (judging from watching the development of Stardock for so many years now ) is, that Jeff has no real choice, what to develop further on. See ObjectDock also. But don't nail me down on that... I hope we will get some more light on that matter. ;)

Rightclick and fences serve different purposes.

My "perfect stardock desktop" would consist of:

  • WB
  • OD+
  • RC
  • Fences

As long as they all are/will be worked on, I'm fine. OD+ is way longer overdue than RC is...

It makes perfect sense to have them all running even though I'm all for a minimalistic desktop. I want minimalism without sacrifice of functionality.

Doesn't Right-click negate the need for Fences, Objectdock etc. That would just be a duplication of what you already have.

Yes for me it pretty much is the similar purpose as object dock and rightclick, only that You have Your desktop clutter back with a double-click, just a bit more organized. :-D ;-)

Just because you can't see my motives, it doesn't mean they are not there. :D

I don't want everything accessible through one menu. I want a whole bunch of things readily available without the incinvenience of having to browse through a small menu where pretty much every item look the same. Thus, OD+ is a perfect complement because I can put applinks there without cluttering up my desktop.

I do NOT want to put a link to every file I work with on my dock or in rightclick, so it's way faster for me to just put them om the desktop and have instant hide/show available to me.

So, you see. They do not serve the same purpose. They complement eachother with features that make my life easier.
