Endeavor WIP

My First Windowblind

Well, guys, be easy on me, this is my first one. Here is what I have so far. It is based on a wall I made a while back. Gonna be a plain, simple and useable skin for my first. Please zoom.

The design is fine.  How's it hue shift? (Because that red would make my eyes bleed)

Hey Jim, this is looking good!  One suggestion, though.  Try moving your start panel to the right about 5 or 6 pixels....especially since your taskbar doesn't go all the way to the edge of the screen.  I move all of my start panels to the right, regardless of how the taskbar looks....my preference, though.

Yeah, startpanels right up against the edge of the screen look wonky.  Especially with the taskbar setup you have.

I should mention that I'm having help from one of the best. None other than Lady X herself!!

I'll work on the start panel and the text. I still don't quite know what I'm doing...lol.

Zubaz, I'll try and see how it recolors. You don't care for red?   :P

Yeah, like I'm gonna try to skin 7 on my first blind....lol...you have a stand up routine?

Besides, don't you have to have a 7 edition of SKS to skin 7?

It recolors very well.

Nope. If you can skin Vista, you can skin 7. Very few and minor differences.

OK, new screeny. Made a few changes.

good luck on yer first WB...watch that banding on the grey in the start menu...you might change the sizing method or add noise to the image or pull the gradient off pure vertical or add a gradient layer that interupts the banding. ;)

Unless of course thats just banding from overly compressing the screeny...then...nevermind. :P

I see it, but I have to look close. I will try to get it fixed, thanx!

but I have to look close

That explains a lot... :-" XD

If you apply the gradient to the image itself rather than adding it through layerstyle it seems to be smoother in my experience.
