Skin rating problem

Hi,

I can still login, download and post, no problem, but for the last few days I can't rate skins. I'm getting  "sorry, but only apprentices and WC subscribers can rate a skin" offering a "subscribe now" link. I subscribed last November.

No idea if the site being down for maintenace last Wednesday(?) has anything to do with it...anyone else getting this glitch?

Pleaes try logging off, clearing your browsers cache and cookies, and login again.  Let me know if that resolves it.  :)

Hi Island Dog,

Yup tried that already but still got the problem.

Log off, clear your cookies, history and temp files.  Then log back in.  Worked for me.

OK, sorry the inconvenience.  I will look further into it.

Island Dog it's OK now, I just fixed it. My CCleaner version must have corrupted somehow...updating to the latest version sorted it out.

Sorry I troubled you <_<

clearing cookies enmass will require you to repopulate/restablish those sites that one wants to have cookie permissions, best to attempt to find the wc cookies and delete those only. I'm now having this problem and has since just occurred with my recent promotion.

dang, I must have thousands of cookies and a majority of them are from wc. I'm gonna follow the advice and delete all cookies, start from scratch.

 Just a FYI.

CCleaner can be configured to save the cookies you want and delete all others. You also can go through the list and select which to delete on a per-use basis. Just  run "Analyze",go to Options>Cookies and pick the ones you wish to keep or clean out.

More OT,I had this problem last year for a month or two. I tried everything too. The only fix I found was to use FF3 instead of IE7. IE7 eventually started rating ok,and has been fine since then.

thanks Wiz, I don't have that many sites that I allow to maintain cookies but it was surprising how many cookies were there from sites that I visit regularly. I need to check my security settings. I thought I have blocked all cookies with a few exceptions???

I don't know if this is related, but when I first log on I'm listed as citizen. I have to go to my settings from my personal pageto fix it. I don't change anything there, just open the page and refresh. Then my rank shows correctly again :S

This may not be related to the OP..... if so, I apologize for hijacking the thread.

I only said that once and I did mention that I thought it was amusing. threads are hijacked all the time.

AND, no, I think it's related as part of the symtom, thanks for the info.

Since the OP fixed their problem, it's not hijacking.

But since this is the support section, we can't cut up or goof around in here.

If your level changes, such as a promotion or becoming a customer, I would always advise to log off then log back in, and clear the cache/cookies.  :)

I use Firefox which I have set to clear cache and cookies everytime I close my browser. It's when I log on again that my user rank changes.

I used the ccleaner program and found out something interesting (at least I think so). I maintained some webcookies and deleted everything else. figurering that this effected my browsers only, wrong!!!

seems that office07 (in vista) also uses cookies to identify the recently opened files. opened up excel and there were no recently opened files listed.

Are you sure you don't have CCleaner set to clean those files? Go to the "Applications " tab and have a look.If you had it unchecked before,a recent update may have rechecked it.

oh, it's highly possible and I think it is a good way to reduce my recent list to only those files that I use often. more of an information post than a snivel. it may have deleted all of my recent files lists, sort of like spring cleaning.

Thanks but did not work for me

I've had this problem for a few weeks now -- I can't rank skins because WC says I'm a citizen, even though when I got to my site, it has my honorific as Master Apprentice.  This only happens in Windows 7.  When I log on using my Vista dual boot, it says it has my correct honorific and I can rank skins.  I've cleared my cache, cleared my cookies, ran CCleaner -- still the same thing.

I hope someone can help. :pout:   Or maybe things will be fixed for me when the new WC website gets out of beta.

Am using W7 and sometimes that happens to me but it happened when I used Vista also.  I logged off WC and cleared out the cashe, temp files and the history.  Then logged back on and off and back on and everything was fine.

I did that, too (logged off, cleared the cache, temp files and history)...still fails.

EDITED TO SAY:  Ok...I lied...I can't seem to log out. :(
