Rainmeter cut off / Weather.com cuts their XML Feed..........

http://Rainmeter.net

Hello folks.

Weather.com: responsible for thousands of Rainmeter skin feeds a day, has just pulled the plug on their XML feed that is utilized to parse the most Weather skins.

Several solutions are available at the Rainmeter forums:
www.rainmeter.net

Communications with Weather.com have been established to reach a solution for skins users worldwide.
There will be changes, if new regulations are accepted

Note:

This may effect more than the Rainmeter community as literally dozens of Parsing programs utilized this feed.
I expect there to be a lot of immediate future issues

if you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact me

We've seen the same thing with DesktopX weather gadgets.  :(  (https://forums.wincustomize.com/358595)

I was over at your site earlier and saw the work you were doing.  Thanks.

www.wunderground.com may have a more lenient stance than weather.com . .  any thoughts?

They do, and if you can parse it; Yahoo weather is good, but we at the Rainmeter community have found these feeds Limiting in their coverage/ Weather Underground is slow to feed at times. Yahoo's coverage is for the same countries as Weather.com

I have found that AccuWeather has the best coverage and is patient and willing to work with us, I would expect the same for you.

AccuWeather has coverage for almost the entire world and stations in the artic and anti-artic. over 100+ languages translations

AccuWeather can only help StarDock grow, as it will reach a far broader audience.

It is worth the trouble.

If you require direct contact information, let me know, or track me down at the Rainmeter forums.

We will help as we can.

Let me know

Over the years I've grown to used 'Looking Glass Weather' - a wonderful widget/object set - Oh well I hope updates will be comming soon.  But I'm glad this weather problem is not mine alone.
