Good books

Hi all

Ive been reading Peter F Hamilton's novels,(pandors star, the void trilogy, confederation series etc) and I love the whole space saga thing. Was wondering if there are other titles out there by other authors with a similar feel to Peter Hamilton's style.

Any feedback would be great.Thanks

OMG! I saw his book in the shops yesterday. I almost bought it but I was short on cash. it's the first book of the void trilogy. it look interesting, i'm gonna have to go back tomorrow and buy it :S.

On another note I just finished a book series which wasn't too bad. It had some interesting prospects on humanities development. The orphan's Triology, can't remember the author. the first book was Echo's of Earth. If you google it im sure you'd find it.

Asimov's Foundation.

Such a classic is beyond anyone's style.

I'm a huge fan of Frank Herbert's Dune. Originally he wrote a saga of six books including the classic first novel Dune. I've also discovered a series of prequels by his son Brian Herbert co-authored by Frank J Anderson. There is a trilogy prequel entitled House Atreides, House Harkonnen, and House Corrino. The style of writing is very different from his fathers but if you like DUne you'll like thses prequels.

They also made anoher trilogy prequel that takes place thousands of years prior to the events in DUne, but which explains more aspects of the universe.

If oyu like short stories I recently read the new Opera of science fiction and there a couple of very good stories in there.

cheers mate

There are so many!

- Bujold's Vorkosigan series

- Weber's Honor Harrington series

- Pournelle's CoDominium-Falkenberg series, especially Mote in God's Eye (w/Niven)

- Niven's Known Space series

- White and Weber's On Death Ground and Shiva Option series

-Weber and Ringo's March Up Country, March to the Sea, March to the Stars, and We Few series

- Drake's "Leary" series (STRONG recommendation for space opera lovers, first book "With the Lightnings")  It reads almost like Horatio Hornblower in space.

- Brin's Startide Rising and Uplift War

- Ringo's series that starts with Into the Looking Glass

- Ringo's series that starts with Hymm Before Battle

They aren't space operas, but Talor Anderson's Destroyermen series is great.
