According to this, Veers is the poster who shall leave first, then come back to destroy the Forums once and for all, Altaux will be corrupted by Veers' ways and join him, IFear will be one of Veers' most important comrades in his goal, Skidi will be for the saving of the Forums, as will Xer0, and Xer0 will be the predominant protagonist in this struggle, as Veers is the antagonist, while Twilight will be split between the two, not knowing whether to side with his friends, or do what he believs is right.

(John) Locke dies, but his physical form is copied by a demon of sorts, who wishes to "go home", but God knows what that means for everyone else...

(Sayid) Jarrah is a former Iraqi torturer from the Gulf War (US Side), and his soul gets corrputed by the sins he's commited, so he sides (naturally) with the Demon

(James) Ford is a con man, who's out for revenge against the man who caused his father to commit homicide and suicide, killing Ford's mother, and himself.  He's with the Demon only to escape the island.

(Hugo)Reyes is a man who wins the lottery (Numbers 4, 8, 15, 16, 23, 42), but after winning the lottery, everyone close to him dies, and all his attempts at being happy with his money fail (for example, he makes his own resturaunt, but right after opening, it gets hit by a meteor). He can also communicate with the dead, so he sees the Demon's opposite, Jacob (who the demon killed) and is against the Demon.

(Jack) Shephard is an extraordinarily gifted Spinal Surgeon, becoming liscensed at the age of 23. However, he has self-esteem issues, issues with his father (who died of alchohol poisoning in Australia, both of them are alchoholics), and issues dealing with others. He is a born leader, but as a result, he is lonely and cold because of leading others. (The tattoo on his arm reads in Taiwanese, "He who leads, but is Lonely because of leading")  He used to lead all 48 survivors of flight 815 to try to get off the island, but now he's a broken and sad man due to his failure to keep his promise to keep all of them safe and return them home safely (all but 5-6 are dead now).  He also appears to have a gift of life, since he both cannot die (man lit a stick of dynamite, sat down, and calmly talked with an accomplice of Jacob, knowing that the dynamite would go out because he was still alive for a reason) and can bring anyone he operates on back to life/full health.  Used to be a man of science, but was turned into a man of faith by Locke, who is now dead.

(Jin/Sun) Kwon is actually a couple of Korean race, Jin and Sun. Jin is currently with the Demon, while Sun is with Shephard. They are both looking for one another, yet each also believes in their respective parties' leaders.
