Demigod games causing drastically reduced connection speeds.

To start off, I have cable internet and I connect through a router. My wireless adapter has a utility which monitors power usage, transmitted data, failed sends etc. everything there is fine, showing 100% signal.  When I run a speed test after first powering on my computer it shows a little over 10mbps download and 1mbps upload which is where it should be.

When I connect to a custom game in demigod in the lobby I show a ping of something like 130.  Once I enter the game my ping shoots up to over 1k and then oscilates between about 500 and 1.2k.  If I exit demigod and run another speed test it shows about 800kbps up and down, this reduced speed remains longer than I care to find out and I restart my computer.

I never had this problem before today.  It definitely seems like an issue on my end, but I have no idea what could be causing it.  Suggestions?

i'm no net guru, but could you go to speedtest.net and post results(should give pic), it will help those with a more affluent knowledge of the intertubes

And this is after a restart. In both cases the same background programs were running, and no active downloads.

whats going on in the first one?

you said ping shoots up, ping is fine there though

was that during a demigod match?

Ah, no that was after. High ping during a match seems to be related to p2p somehow. Kinda odd that I have a low ping in the lobby though.

Right when I enter a game ping shoots way up and speed goes way down.

apparently the issue resolved itself... Idk what is going on really. Just about every week I have some sort of problem with this game which goes away by the next day. It's always something different, and I've done all I can on my end to facilitate p2p connections in DG. I think this game just still has some issues. Ah well, at least it's working for now.

hmm I think I may have it figured out. I'm DHCP configured and my IP adress changes a lot, I think maybe demigod is just having issues with some of the IP adresses in my pool. That would explain why I just have bad connection days every so often.

Might your ISP be throttling down users who use many connections or lots of upload bandwidth?

If that was the case wouldn't it happen every time? or no? And if I'm paying for 10/1meg down/up shouldn't that not be an issue?
