Need a clan/group ish

Well I just got this game, but I like rts, and it wont take me long before I start to get decent.

I need some people to play with and all that jazz. Really want to play with some people who are fairly active (on 4+ days a week), and definitely some mature people. None of that "Iim een joor b4s3 owned nub" stuff.

I am 19, but I have a crap load(7 years) experience being a member/leader of numerous clans.

I know the player base on here is small but I have hope for something cool so just clue me in :P

Clan seen breaks into either the good ones who are invite only or the not so good ones that are more social but will let people in. Main "competitive" ones at the moment are BIA, DT and DU.

If you want to be competitive and play in the skilled matches, learn the game, and play the PUG matches (if you don't know what these are you'll find out soon enough). You will learn who the good players are and if you are good they will learn who you are. If someone thinks you are good enough you will then get an invite.

The game has an older audience it seems - most players are 20-40 age group rather then kids, so the leet speak is substantially less...

Final pointer - the game does have a learning curve. I played someone 1v1 who said he was a tactical genius and was good at other RTS games (e.g. Starcraft) - I destroyed him totally - the game plays out slightly different to many RTS games. Moral here is that you can learn and be good but don't assume being good at game X = good at Sins...

This game really doesn't have much of a clan scene because of the player base.  You'll definitely want to get Entrenchment if you are into online multiplayer.  Once you're up to speed and played a couple games online, maybe you'll be ready to start puggin'.

Really the best thing to do, speaking from experience, is to get on and play with people.  Eventually you'll like a certain group of players more than the others, and if they have a clan then you can join them, if not, then you guys can create a clan.

With a smaller player base than most RTS' another clan may not be the way to go, however the clans in Sins aren't that big mostly because you really just need 4 or 5 players.  My clan only has 3 players and we are rarely ever noticed, but we prefer to be that way, as we aren't competitive, we are just here for fun.

I hope you find/found a clan good for you!

Arch's advice is right on the money.  The best way to join a clan is to play online and get to know people and to make friends with people who are in clans.  Alternatively, you can also form your own clan.

I do disagree with Arch that a clan only needs a couple people.  Having only 5 people in your clan is OK if those five people are available 24/7 and will always show up, but realistically, in my experience with clans for other games, if you have a clan with 15 people in it perhaps 6 or 7 will show up for a scheduled 5v5 match.  Maybe Sins clanners would take it more seriously in which case you could get by with a roster of 9 or 10 people so that five of them wouldn't have a scheduling conflict.  However, since Sins doesn't really have an active, competitive clan scene per se, a small group of friends who form a clan because they like to play together is just fine even if they couldn't really field a 5-man team very often; it's not as though the current Sins clans have scheduled clan matches.

"So you're part of the Mining Guild, then?"
"No, not actually. Our operation is small enough not to be noticed, which is advantageous for everybody since our customers are anxious to avoid attracting attention to themselves."

Lol is that a quote from Star Wars!?  :moo:

If it's from Star Wars, I'd guess it's from the Empire Strikes Back when they talk to Lando Calarissian at Cloud City.

Correct - Lando talking to the group about Cloud City as they trevel to dinner with Vader.

I just thought it was a good take off of the comment about being a small clan (which can be used instead of guild in some circumstances - probably saying too much now :D).
