Ah. P.K. Dick. Have you read any of his other stuff? ![]()
Try Dr Seuss... ;p
I read Dr Seuss to my kids and my grandkids. I'll stick with P.K.
Not yet and I don't care to now. Maybe the cliff notes. ![]()
It made Naked Lunch seem like Dr. Suess.
Reality is that which, when you stop believing in it, doesn't go away.
--Philip K. Dick
I have read Minority Report. I am aging, I didn't put the connection together. I have never seen bladerunner as I am saving it for later in life. I do wierd things like that. I just listened to disc 2 of Led Zep physical Graffiti a few months ago for the first time. I waited 30 years for it and boy it was worth the wait. ![]()
I'm waiting for the animated version. Movies are way too high brow.
writer sounds like a dick.
Time to get you on the right track Karen.
Here's a good start- http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WTTw8S22tcc
It's never too late to be young again.
Never put off till tomorrow what you can do today.....cos if you do it today....and like it....you can always do it again tomorrow.
Oh yeah,..... tomorrow never comes.
and...
There's time enough to sleep..... when I'm dead.
I do that too Craig...I often stop watching a tv show and just let the episodes pile up...then have a marathon and watch them all in a row.
Easier to follow and takes less time...no commercials. ![]()

I kinda look at it like wine or scotch. I'm just waiting for the right time. Eventually someone that ran out of ideas will redo it. That's when I'll watch the original. I did it with The day the Earth Stood Still.
i only got into pink floyd about 3 years ago.....then i mentally beat my head againt a brick wallfor not getting into roger sooner!! i LUV ROGER WATERS...........
my background is similar to karen, with mother trying to shield me from 'the pagans of heavy metal ' LOL but i still love the 70's music, im a 70's kid at heart for sure. im still discovering music and bands..some i have discovered and love is:
type o negative
clan of xymox
dead can dance
pink floyd
manowar (some thnk they are lame, but i really really like em)
sisters of mercy ( cant get enough of this guy either...ribbons and marian are my faves)
barry adamson (im nuts about that guy)
war of the worlds with jeff wayne yeah thats insane i didnt really hear it till a few years back! i adore it.
and most recently the rocknrolla soundtrack...if i love the music from the movie, ill get it asap. i love most soundtracks, specially bernard herrman (mostly hitchcockmovies)
I saw him live twice last year. He's gotten too political. I don't care to see him again but I'll keep listening to the music. ![]()
I always seem to go back to Zep no matter how old I get.
I saw Jimi Hendrix, live. WOW!
Lets pick it up tonight with some Pat Travers- http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cdaDZslJavA
Time
(Mason, Waters, Wright, Gilmour) 7:06
Ticking away the moments that make up a dull day
You fritter and waste the hours in an offhand way.
Kicking around on a piece of ground in your home town
Waiting for someone or something to show you the way.
Tired of lying in the sunshine staying home to watch the rain.
You are young and life is long and there is time to kill today.
And then one day you find ten years have got behind you.
No one told you when to run, you missed the starting gun.
So you run and you run to catch up with the sun but it's sinking
Racing around to come up behind you again.
The sun is the same in a relative way but you're older,
Shorter of breath and one day closer to death.
Every year is getting shorter never seem to find the time.
Plans that either come to naught or half a page of scribbled lines
Hanging on in quiet desperation is the English way
The time is gone, the song is over,
Thought I'd something more to say.
Pinkfloyd is essentially a combined talent (should I say genius) of Syd Barrett, Roger Waters and Dave Gilmour.
The best lyrics EVER!
Welcome my son, welcome to the machine.
What did you dream? its alright we told you what to dream.
