The most underrated and underused item in Demigod

People, you should start buying Totems of Revelation. It gives a passive +5 vision bonus for 50 freaking gold coins! This passive ability is reason enough to buy it. You can see your enemies slightly before they see you. Plus, if you make a push into their base, you can plant one of these suckers and give your team great line-of-sight for a couple of minutes.

Heh, I often have one for an entire match. It gives that little edge that might make the difference in being ganked or not.

Wow, I had no idea. Didn't bother to actually read the whole item description, hah! Thanks for the tip!

If I have 50g left over at the start of a match I always buy one, being able to see an enemy before they see you is a huge advantage.

I tend to not use it so much as the game progresses though, because my useable slots are usually taken up by HoL/Locks/Teles etc.

I usually have 1 for the early game. Very handy item for the price.

The item description says it can revealed cloaked enemies, now there is a similar item in Dota, but I mean... There are no cloaked enemies in demigod so, whats up with that? :)

It reveals mines, which are cloaked :)

Also, I read that there used to be an invisibility skill for one of the demigods, but it was removed.

There used to be an invisibility cloak in the artifact store.

It's just a shame that revealing regulus' mines becomes so pointless mid-late game.  It's quite easy to position mines so that they cover the full width of a lane.  The vision bonus is pretty awesome at the start of the game, although I agree with the ppl who have posted before me; later in the game I simply can't afford the inventory space.

A totem or revelation will help you not killed easily.

It has been one of my "must" have items since late beta....

This is a great tip.  I have started picking one of these up at the start of the game and it does come in handy.

Yeah, if I play Oak I always get a totem.  Mainly because I first buy a monk idol, and that last little bit of money might as well be a ward. Often later on I end up ditching it, or using it, just so that I have another useable item slot. Still though, it is good gank protection.

It's good early on, but after I start running out of inventory space, it's the first to go.
