Starting Essence Amounts
On a related note to "Survival of fittest...or survival of the biggest?", would anyone else like to allow Channelers to start the game with different levels of Essence? As some may infer from other posts, I'm not a stickler for fairness across an entire game (fairness <> balance, imo). Allowing different starting Essence levels could be useful for a few things:
- Balancing player skill without universal fudge factors like "so-and-so's taxes always collect 10% more than everyone else's", or "so-and-so's armies always do +1 damage", etc. This would ensure we'd have a sporting chance when going up against Stardock devs, for example.
- In game types such as "survival" or "declining empire", it could allow scenarios that support Big Bad Enemy vs. Horde of Weaklings.
