BSOD

Tried to play again. This time, I didn't get an access violation. I got a BSOD. :D

Stop 0x00000050 (0xB9C07BB8, 0x00000000, 0x81E586DA, 0x00000000)

I think the text said "PAGE_FAULT_IN_NON_PAGED_AREA."

I'll also send this to [email protected], of course, but someone here once said they'd like to see the above info when it comes to BSODs.

If you're getting a BSOD that points more in the direction of a hardware/driver issue. It's exceedingly rare that a normal app causes a BSOD on modern versions of Windows (at worst, it exposes some existing driver/hardware weakness).

I'm starting to suspect my sound card driver. I got another BSOD which mentioned p17.sys, which is that driver--and which, I now discover, is a notorious troublemaker. I've now been able to complete two games in a row (highly unusual!) with /nosound.
