Problem adding friend

Hi

 

I have two rl friends that I play Demigod with, but I've only been able to add one of them to my friend list. I keep trying to add the other friend but it says it's unable to add him, and I know I have his handle spelt accurately. I've also tried adding him via Impulse, but it says it's unable to find him. He seems to have added me though.

After a patch cleared out the entire contents of my friends list, I gave up on it for the time being.
