Game i have been waiting for forever

Hello everybody,

My first post here:)

I just wanted to say  this seems the game i have been waiting for for ages.

I really love turn based strategies, had tons of fun with tittles like master of orion 1&2, Master of magic, Galactic civ 2 + all expansions , Alpha Centauri ... (I also bought sins of solar empires, demigod but while fun  its not near as fun for me as turn based:))

When i read about this , saw the pictures , and reading all news, im really excited about this game , it seems like a turn based game i have been waiting forever, since master of magic made me a taste  of somethign that could be.Master of magic was brillant but it was bugged to hell , ai was weak and ofc as the years went by , the graphics were more and more scary:).

Heroes of moght and magic 2,3,4,5 imho were all very good in a way, but the building and shaping part of world was very limited. Also in very large games the balance in later stages imho was weird.

Age of wonders had sweet graphics imho and mood but  the startegic/building part was weak , tactical was also boring fast.

I really love what i read about thhis game and i lvoe the art direction , its just so fantasy and  other then other games...+ ofc Stardock seems like the ulltimate company for turn based strategies, maybe they will dethrone in my heart Microprose....:)

Following closely the developemtn, good luck:)

Welcome

I too hope that Stardock can take the crown from Microprose. Who if were still around would be happy to pass it along to an excellent company. (IMHO)

X-com meets MoM? a perfect utopia..  :w00t:

MoM is one of my yop 3 games of all time.  X-com is in my top 5.

I would rather see a MoM game then a MoM / X-com mix.

I loved  the xcom games, but i wasnt honestly thinking about them here, like i wrote Microprose produced master of orion 1 and 2, master of magic, so they were master of this genre.

Mom meets xcom:)? I wasnt thinking about it:)

Microprose also won my heart by the little known very nice vampiric rpg bloodnet....

Duke Nukem Forever isn't coming out anymore... Sorry to break the bad news. :P

Nah, just kidding! Great that you've found this community. Lots of likeminded cra... people here.

Its still a bit of a wait, but who knows, you might get in Aplha and I guess we'll all get in beta soon. Plus anticipation is half the fun! With some games its even more fun then the actualy game, gladly Stardock's titles don't follow that system :D

With the termination of the development team by 3D Realms in May 2009, production on Duke Nukem Forever has been halted. Although Take-Two still owns the publishing rights to the game, they do not have an agreement with 3D Realms to provide funding for the game's continued development. A lawsuit has been filed by Take-Two Interactive against 3D Realms over their failure to finish development of the game.

Nooooooooooooooooo! :(
I had no idea! An epoch is at an end! :hugme:

I was hoping to tell my grandchildren about how I was growing up when Duke Nukem Forever was first announced. :'(

I was always under the impression that Duke Nukem Forever was a clever hoax (notice the 'Forever' part of the game title).  That they were actually making a statement on how great game concepts are developed, but then corporate greed 'forever' diminishes what the gamer actually experiences.

I'm pretty sure it was like a bad pun since it was the 4th in the series.  Like "pokemon 4ever" for example.

And Duke Nukem 2D.  Finally, don't forget Duke Nukem 1D....the game with the spacial reasoning that nobody could get their head around.
