This one is gonna take a while to make.. Metal.. at least the way I am attempting it.. is... eh.. how can I say this.. ... a PAIN IN THE ASS.

Considering just greyscaling the entire theme, maybe, 

...anyway, here's some frames, taskbar etc.... this might be the most difficult theme I've attempted, material wise. It's been quite a challenge so far.

...now that there is Klassy....gunmetal....lovin' it.....

I like the blue better.

Problem is its rather a lot of blue in the start panel.. and not many areas to insert more blue in the rest of the theme.

Unbalanced.

Anyway... wip... I might turn it into a straw hat theme..

This will make a lot of the guys at MS very jealous not to mention put their egos in a twist. Who'd've thought making a metal blind that looks like the real thing. Go for it vStyler. You the man with the plan.

Maybe a little more blue in the gray...PDJ sees gray and starts the Confederate sh!t.

Actually, I do like the Gunmetal a dood deal...tones the chrome down a little...but I'm fuddyduddyish and like darker skins.

I like the gray better. The blue reminds me of some of Tiggz's Omni stuff in a weird way. Is there any chance the windows and task buttons could be more....metallic, or would that be too much? The start panel and window look like they have abstract reflections but the buttons don't.

Thats not a bad idea actually, it's actually just what it needs.. usually I'd put a little blue in my blacks and greys, didn't here yet. Nice one Doc.

me too sorta, part of the reason I'd like to change it.

I'd like to, will try but the less surface area there is the harder it is to get reflections and such inside the image.. especially on the titlebuttons, so if i was able to make the taskbuttons more reflective, then they wouldn't match the smaller titlebuttons.    The start menu and frames have far more real estate in this regard.

so all in all, like I said, quite a challenging WB so far, back to work on it after a good nights sleep

sViz...wow...really good observation. That's a 'Tiggzy Blue' you're right!

After adding a tinge of blue to the inner panel I believe it looks markedly better. Thx Doc, your not useless after all!

New buttons are better. So is the new grey.

K, last screeny update for a while, taskbar reworked to look less angled and flat, rounder titlebuttons and refined taskbuttons a bit... oh and one pixel shorter start button and added shellstyle.

I think you should rename your WIP threads in future to...Master Classes...

it's great to watch them evolve.....minute design changes that make such a difference...

this stuff is gold for new skinners..in fact, all skinners....to be able to look over your shoulder....

That start menu reminds me of a hip flask I own--just needs a cap at the top. LOL.
