Dumb question. Where does it show the EXACT version you are running?

Galciv itself will only show the general version number (like 1.04) in the menu screen where you save and load the game. The Stardock program knows which exact build you have. Run Stardock, hit Software on the row of options near the top of the screen (it will say news, chat, discussion, so forth), and then hit the Drengin tab. It will update the info and display your build.
