Fix Yer Game!

I am just about done defending Stardock and being patient with them while this game gets going.  I am about ready to jump back on the bandwagon with saying that if a game is not ready for release, if it contains a great number of bugs and needs more developement, than it should not be released until it is a finished and enjoyable product.

Patch after patch, I see things improving not.  So with all of my posts, I often give a little bit of a story.  So I am hosting a 4v4 game on Leviathan, and hosting is always a pain, waiting 10+ minutes just to start a game.  Waiting for people to join, waiting for people who can 'connect' to join, and then waiting for a full house.

So after waiting around 15 minutes to start the game, I hit start and wait to begin having fun.  Well, 15 minutes wasted.  The game freezes at the loading screen.  At this point, I am overly frustrated with the amount of issues this game has.  For starters, P2P sucks and should never have been implemented!  Secondly, if you are going to use P2P, make it work!

Anyways, this game is just about a click from the uninstall (waiting for the n00bs to come post "bye").  Perhaps I will check back in... I dunno, what do you need Stardock? Another two or three months to make this game stable?  Yea, I may check back and see how it went down.

Well, this is my rant.  Just so tired of seeing game after game come out for the PC as an unfinished product.  Perhaps, I too, shall move over to console gaming.  Oh, btw, did anyone pick-up C&C 4 when it came out and the multiplayer didn't work unless you opened up all your ports or enabled DMZ?  That was a great one as well.  At least Stardock didn't release something nearly as incomplete or buggy as EA does... with every release.  See, I compliment them as well! ;D

I like your post more than others. Most others do complain but in a rude way. You just presented facts and said how you felt about em.

 

Thats what a forum is for ... but get rdy to be called a troll ... now-a-days apparently we all are... or well if you post anything they don't like.

Im the same as you .. ill def keep my eye on this game and once its fixed id pick it up in a heart beat :P.

Thanks Makerz, nice contructive feedback.  Most people just come and whine and rant and everything, and I really try to avoid it.  I still think Demigod is a great game, but I wish it would work a little better, that is all.

Anyways, I half-joke about everything too, which most people will, I'm sure, take seriously.  No way imma gonna uninstall.... to much fun.  But honestly, I hope they do work out some of the P2P issues and some of the crashing issues.

As much as I agree that the game is bugged, posting stuff like this isn't gonna make it go any faster. Have you seen the videos? They are woking at 4:00am. They are doing their best. If you truely need to vent, type your post and vent, but realisticly it will achieve nothing.

If they woulda did things right the first time... or dare I say, waited for the release, they wouldn't have to work themselves so hard!

See this is where i say people jump the gun. He is stating PURE facts. YES its a broken game.... HE NEVER once said "Stardock your game is broken and you guys are just so freaking lazy and won't even try and fix it".

So he isn't really bashing them for that he is just saying the game is unplayable for him. There is nothing wrong with him stating this on the forums. Just like you have the right to go make a "I love this game and stardock is uber pro" thread if you want. Why? Because thats what a forum is for .. posting your thoughts. Otherwise they are USELESS.

Hold out your right arm and twist it to the right like in the picture. Not extremely painful, but not pleasant either.

You have to get your thumb pointed directly at the ground.  It does get painful.

I wouldn't be surprised to see you not get flamed. It's hard to disagree with what you've said (particularly the way you stated it) and responses are at this point pretty much limited to "Why are you posting this" and "it works for me".

BTW, I like your forum avatar and still have that box on my bookshelf. B)

Stardock's the publisher. You don't mention Gas Powered Games even once in your post.

It doesn't really matter which company is responsible or not respoinsable.  Demigod is a product of both of their toils.
