Connection Problems to ohter Player!

Hey,

I can connect to other player...

 

when i join an online game (or host one) i get the messege

"try to connect to  xxx, yyy"

but nothing changes...

 

ports from 6002-6200 are open, firewall is open to

"/serverproxyonly" <-- i tryed it alredy

 

i need help with this!

otherwise i dont need the game...

I am having similar issues

I have port 6073 and 6100-6200 open and forwarded AND have tried the /serverproxyonly switch and get what you are describing. The game locks up on me when I then leave a lobby.

I'm with Exetel on an ADSL2+ connection, using a Billion 3G-ADSL2+ (802.11n ) VPN Firewall Router.

Fairly sure I got the port forwarding part right - I run with the firewall up, but can host Sins (and could on my old router when I played 1.05 and you HAD to port forward to host), and use Xfire etc...

The net code just seems slow and lathargic and buggy - I've spent more time trying to get into a game/getting booted from a lobby then actually playing MP - only had 2 MP games and one was 1v1 and other was 2v2 :(

Also having the same problems.

I have ports 6100-6200 open on my router, windows firewall set up to allow Demigod, and I use a shortcut with "/serverproxyonly" to play demigod.

When I attempted to join a custom game, everyone connects to each other and then gets stuck connecting to me.  Then I either give up or they boot me out of the match.  I also see that some of the other players have "(proxied)" next to their names.  Is that only displayed when you use "/serverproxyonly" AND actually get connected to another player?  I ask because it is not listed next to my name in the connection window that shows each player.

 

I have Verizon DSL with a Belkin wireless N router (I am using the 485 connections and not the wireless).  I read that there may be issues with NAT because of having two seperate IP addresses, but I am not very familiar with networking, at least not enough to figure this all out for myself.

I have read Monk's connection pdf, and I am going to attempt some more troubleshooting after work, I just thought that I could see if anyone has had this same problem and fixed it.

I spent more time trying to get muiltiplayer to work then I have spent time in SP mode, and that makes me sad.

(Also, I would have posted in the "We are here to help" post, but 90% of that post is not even readable.  For some reason I get about the first 10 pages of text and then there is 100+ pages of just white empty space with a few dotted pages of black space in the middle.)

*UPDATE*

 

Went home, changed around all my settings, enabled DMZ on my router...still nothing.

 

Ditched the router and hooked my PC straight to the modem...and now I can finally play a match!  WOOT!

Same issue mate. Looks like Stardock doesn't care about us anymore. Time to ditch Demigod.

Played two long matches last night!  What a blast!  I am going to stick with this game and hope they can get the bugs ironed out.  This game has way too much promise to just stop playing it.

 

To everyone having trouble out there, don't give up on your connection issues!  It is worth the wait.
