I am one of those old gamers who prefer GalCiv I over GCII. I finished a game and was going to post in Metaverse, but not only could I not post my game, but the whole website was unavailable. What gives?
Actually, it is back down again. If this continues, I won't be able to submit my next game...
It appears that the site is gone or there are excessive timeouts. Could the administrators check on this or give an explanation? One cannot get to galciv.com either.
Working fine here. Can you run a traceroute to the site and post yoru results?

It still is not working and I tried accessing when I was in another state as well. What does my trace route say?
Kicked? I can bring up the site now, but it will not let me log on.
It also will not let me post GalCivI scores on metacers. I can see scores, but that is all. This has happened 2-3 times in the past. Is it the same problem each time?

Yep, GalCivI can be revived -- some games are beyond time & memories.
It goes without saying that if Stardock keeps maintaining such stuff online, it proves to me that they really care about you, anyone and i. Metaverse or not!

I did that some time ago, on my old portable, that could not run GC-2. Game was quite interesting, but after I've seen the final result I decided I'll not try another one. The reason was simple: the final statistics said that Arceans researched 12 techs, and obtained 43. Yep, OBTAINED. xo I had to research like mad, I had to struggle and trade and invade and whatnot to get those techs, but they just OBTAINED them, probably with "free" tech-sharing among AIs.

When you trade and get tech by conquest, that is considered to be obtained. Same as what happens when there is the big tech trade from the United Planets vote (if you are lucky enough to get it).
But I still have a problem:
I now can get to the GalCv I website, but cannot log on, so I cannot post in the forums nor post metaverse scores.
Bara is looking into this.
Just to let you know, I can now log on to the GalCiv1 site, but cannot post scores. So at least this is progress.
It appears that there is no change, I just tried to submit a new game, it did not work. I got no error message
