Graphics Card?

So my buddy just sent me a 50% off coupon for Demigod and I gleefully purchased it, only to discover that demigod...well, Demigod makes my graphics card cry.  I've got an old Asus A8N5X board with a 16x PCIe slot; will this work with a modern graphics card?

Assuming the answer is yes, I'm looking for value that will still (hopefully) let me play demigod at 1900x1200.  I don't want to have to dump tons of cash into this as I'm planning on purchasing/building a brand new system when Westmere hits.  I'm intrigued by the potential of the Radeon 4770 40nm card, but I'll be guided by your thoughts.  What should I pick up?

The PCI-e x16 slot should be compatible with newer cards.  As for which card is for you, that depends on what you want to spend and how soon you want to get another card.  For reference I'm running a Radeon 4830(here) at 1900x1200, and I can crank all the settings on Demigod to the max without seeing any hiccups.  The 4770 is a great card as well(I wish my card had GDDR5 memory on it), and, depending on the rest of your system specs, it shouldn't have a problem running 1900x1200.

Depending on your resolution, the HD4770 is the best bang for your buck now. It's performance matches up to the pricier HD4850.

Whatever the case, even if you're gaming at a high resolution eg. 1920x1200, the HD4770 should have no problem handling Demigod assuming your CPU is also decent and you have >2GB RAM.

So yes, the HD4770 has a huge potential in it for it's measly price. Awesome card. Nvidia and it's fanboys have been put to shame thanks to this card.
