Looks like Jack has reached a new low(I didn't think it was possible ....).

If I get one more threat of criminal prosecution for sending you all proof, as I have, that pornographic video games are being sold to children in Utah because of the willful refusal of your Attorney General to enforce your state's pornography laws, then I will add ALL of you to the sworn criminal complaint now in the hands of the FBI in Salt Lake City.  You will be identified as co-conspirators to violate 18 USC 241 and 242...

Maybe the real problem here is that Utah, as a recent study proves, leads the nation in consumption of on-line porn.  Maybe some among you are into this stuff, and you feel threatened...

I'm not going to put up with it.  I've taken down some of the largest pornographers in the world.  Taking down your legislature will be a piece of cake by comparison.

Wow, I live in Utah and I had no idea there were all these pornographic games being sold to children in my state.  Thanks for bringing this to my attention, Jack!

You'd think being disbarred would have curbed some of this guy's lunacy, but I guess by definition his insanity is going to keep him trying the same failed approach over and over and over...

I like how Utah (my understanding to be the most strict in terms of porn laws in relation to all other US states) is the one being blamed here.  I also like how it appears Jack is blaming Utah for the increase of online porn (which is of course what will happen if you can't buy it in stores)

I'm pretty sure he's blaming Utah for minors buying M rated video games.  Lunatic definitely, but the online porn bit seems to be a simple ad hominem attack.  They're complaining because he's sending them porn, so instead of not sending porn, he's accusing them of liking the video games because Utah's just a bunch of porn addicts.  It's not the first time he's done it.  See here.  It's pretty common among the religious crazies(for those of you who are liberal crazies, these are crazies specifically, not everyone religious), and nothing new to Thompson.  Rock music for instance, you're a devil worshipping witch that eats babies if you listen to Metallica.  Or if you watch Harry Potter or Disney movies.  He's pretty mild really, at least it's a stretch to get from his view on the games to where reality is actually at.  He does seem to have his own special idiocy when it comes to the reaction though, I'd be worried about the safety of his neighbors if he started harping on witch craft.

 

We really don't need some guy getting torched on his own lawn because his kid had a Harry Potter costume at Halloween...

I would be surprised if this hasn't been attempted or organized. He has a whole following of rabid haters. The most infuriating part to me is that the guy just doesn't seem to ever know a single thing about the things he talks about.

My favorite thing about him is that he fled my beloved home state of Florida. We tolerate an awful lot of fucked-up shit in the name of justice and the free market here, and this fool made our current piratocracy give him the heave-ho. That really takes effort--you could probably fill a small Flordia town with just our crazy-but-not-too-dangerous lawyers...

Wow.  This is the most entertaining Jack has been in the last few years.  I love it.  :rofl:  

 

It also displays his stunning lack of tact and/or political prowess.  He is -- against all odds -- managing to alienate what is quite probably the most conservative state in the Union....and therefore also the one that would likely be most sympathetic to his goals of outlawing "pornographic" video games.  Priceless!

I just hope I get to keep my informative ratings after he shoots everything to hell.  I've no interest in playing GTA4 to begin with, but it's nice to know why it's rated M if I were interested.

 

If for instance, you can watch pornos in a theater, and you happen to walk into said theater as your elderly grandmother or 8 year old cousin is passing...  Yeah...  If the backlash kills em I'll be very sad.

Yeah, GTA4 is in my opinion (although I haven't actually played it) not that good of a game. Just a bunch of smashing cars etc., with no story. My general rule is: goodness of a game is directly proportional to the number of dragons, mutants, or aliens mentioned in the plot. GTA gets a resounding 0. (Of course, that rises to a 1 in the "mutants" category if you consider ol' Tommy J....)

I always laugh when I see specific people like Thompson fellow trying to enforce their own values on everybody else. I am a parent of three kids and I will be the judge of what they can and cannot play. Not this Thompson fellow.

 

So if my kids do buy a game and I find it's not appropriate I WILL decide what to do. Nobody else. I wish somebody would tell him that
