Can't Start Game

So i just recently got Demigod and my computer has all the requirements. I looked up and i have Direct 3D, my software is all up to date. I still can't start up the game, when i start it, it goes black like it will start, splash screen comes up and then goes back to my desktop. It says that it can't run because it doesn't have Direct 3D but i clearly do. I know others have posted about this, and there has been no straight answer on the subject. I really was excited to play this game and i don't want to return it because by the sound of it, it's pretty awesome. Can anyone help me?

It says that it cannot find Direct3d, so i tried looking on the fourms for an answer and all people say is update your video card, i did.

I got this same problem but i was able to fix it pretty easily.

First just right click the Demigod icon on ur desktop, then go to properties, then to the compatibility tab, and then under Display Settings, check the box next to Run in 256 colors.

Then it should work, it did for me.

The only thing is that when the little first window pops up, the colors will be messed up, but when the game opens it goes to normal. Hope this works for u

I tried that! It looked promising, i got the messed up splash screen but it still came up with the error that it cannot find the Direct 3D. I run off a laptop, and i think it has a built in video card, does that matter?

Try to get the latest drivers for your laptop card. They are NOT the same as their desktop counterparts.

Thanks, i guess i was updating the wrong drivers?? I didn't know that was possible lol!

But it's working and i love the game woohoo
