Yes I did, there is also the fact that you can re-use the bolt most of the time and it doesn't attract zombies. Also single shot rifles are better than any other gun in dealing with that sort of attack

But you must not forget that a single-shot would have to be reloaded after each shot, where as a semi-auto would be able to be shot at multiple zombies. And since you need a head shot if you miss the first time with a single you have to reload with a re-animated corpse about to maul and eat you. But lets not forget that a semi-auto or single-shot can be equipped with a scilencer so there is realy no point to having a crossbow as your primary weapon.

What about chainsaws?  Not really a gun but maybe you like to make it more personal......

Chainsaws are actually a really bad idea for killing zombies depending on the method of zombification.  If it's one of the biological contaminant versions, you're spraying yourself with zombie bits and pretty much guaranteed to be infected in short order.  The underside of the chainsaw cuts towards you.

I vote L1A1 .  Modified UK version of the  FN FAL.  Almost got my marksmanship with this beauty. 

plus they require close combat which is NEVER recomended. Remember, zombies cant hurt you from long range. But lets not forget the ultimate weapon for defence, the flamethrower.

I seriously doubt that the average consumer can find a workable flamethrower during or before a zombie outbreak. Stick to the Shotgun, but since this thread is about Assualt rifles....

yes that is the problem with them but if you can find one your good to go. Shotgun, bad choice because zombies can only be killed with headshot. The shotgun is made to scatter the body with BBs and is very inacurate at long range. If it does hit its not likely for a headshot unless youre very close, which is bad.

Actually most shotguns nowadays can house solid slugs. While heavier, they can deliver an instant headshot from a pretty good distance. The reason i would pick a shotgun is because while a Rifle bullet might go clean through where i am at ,in the city, the wall of BBs would be a lifesaver for me

in the event of a zombie invasion you want to get out of the city, preferably by bicycle. If you use a shotgun it should be for urban combat or defence but on the run the slugs would be far to heavy and big to carry a suficeint supply and would run out to quickly. Another shotgun flaw would be that most dont have scopes for long range, although this can be fixed. However, the flaw that the shotgun is extremly loud can not be fixed, as I have never seen a scilencer for one, although they may be out there. If they are they arnt readily available.

flamethrowers would probly best against zomies if you didnt run out of fuel.

you never heard of the hood trick, stick a potato at the end of your rifle and shoot. this works as a "ghetto fabulous" silencer

wow, that is truly pathetic. Thats the red-neckest thing Ive ever heard. But thats not efective because who wants to lug around a sack of potatos.

It's kind of illegal, but silencers aren't that hard to make, you just have to thread the barrel and screw it on when you're done...

I would choose the TDI Kriss Super V...  1500 rpm .45 caliber with little to no kick and no noticable muzzle climb on full auto according to Future Weapons (Military Channel).
