Can someone explain to me how ressurection works!

Topic says it all as I've considered it literal cr"p ever since I discovered cuz I never managed to make it work ONCE!

Quesions are?

How does it work?

The level transfer..does the second cap have to be in the grav well in order for him to level?

There are alot of disscussions on it in the strategy area, but basically the game saves the level of your highest lost Capital ship (anywhere in the galaxy) and reserection gives that level to the target cap ship. Your mothership doesn't need to be in gravitywell when that cap is destroyed. You cannot give that level to another capitalship (unless you lose the one that levels up), but if you lost any other caps it may give other capital ships their level (I've never been in that situation).

yes. very simple all you have to do is pay attention to the game to know htat

I have it on autocast. For some reason, whenever an enemy jumps into the area, my mothership just goes to some random capital, and uses it, even though none of my capital ships had died at all or had lost any health from the enemies that had just jumped in. It wouldn't be the way of saving the highest level, since it was one of the ones on a lower lvl...

Also, does it automatically save the highest level? or must you do something?

thirdly, if, say, you have a lvl 1, a level 8 and a lvl 10. the level 8 is destoyed. do you need to select the lvl 1 with ressurection to replace it with the lvl 8's spirit? Reading goafan77's response, it seems so.

lastly, does it work on different types of caps? if, say a revelation (it doesn't matter which one) is destroyed, could you level up a mothership (or any other one except a revelation) or must it be another revelation? and I assume you couldn't level up the mothership that uses the ability.

sorry for all the questions, I'm just an overall new player who has recently switched over from TEC to advent, and haven't quite gotten to try everything out yet.

Yeah I've heard the autocast was wierd. Did it actually give one of your caps levels?

I'm pretty sure you just need to have a capital ship level 2+ die and a level 6 mothership to use the ability.

Not sure what you mean by your next question. If you lose a level 8 then yes if you use reserection on the level 1 it will turn into an instant level 8 cap.

Cap ship type makes no difference, they all gain experience and level up at the exact same rate anyways. So you can lose a revelation and reserect "its crew" to a radiance.

no it didn't level it up. So it does automatically remember the death of the highest level capital ship, then.

Thanks so much!

EDIT: I just reread your original post, which actually did answer one of my questions. Thx for the patience. Also, I didn't quite get what you meant by "You cannot give that level to another capitalship (unless you lose the one that levels up), but if you lost any other caps it may give other capital ships their level (I've never been in that situation)."

Your welcome.

I think what I was trying to say is better represented by this senario. Lets say you have a lvl 6 and lvl 7 cap ship in a battle somewhere, and you have a lvl 6 mother ship and two lvl 1s at your homeworld. If you lose the level 7 cap, you can give its level to one of your lvl 1 cap ships, but you can't give it to the other. What I'm not sure of (from experience) is that if both die before you can give the level 7 to another cap, will it remember the level 6? I'm pretty sure it will, but I've never had two caps die before using reserection on two new cap ships in a row, so I don't know for sure. Basically I believe that it remembers all of your lvl 2+ cap ships you lost, and just gives the level of the highest one every time you use reserection, but I could be wrong here.
