Ubuntu and GalCiv 2

Hey. I just got Xubuntu, a linux based os on my pc. It runs great and all, but I haven't been able to get Galactic Civilizations 2 to work on it. I have seen screenshots of GC2 running fine in wine, but my problem is that I cannot install it. I have tries SD central, but it is buggy and doesn't work. I tried the downloads from impulseanywhere and they gave me an error. I did not buy the cd, just the download version. I think that having a cd might be the ket. Anyways, if anyone could give me some hints or tips to get it working it would be greatly appreciated.

I haven't tried this myself, but I see according the the WineHQ page for GalCiv 2 there appear to be varying levels of success from version to version. Here's the page:

Hopefully that gives you some help, but I don't know what to tell you to do. Maybe somebody else will know better. You could try a GalCiv forum or an ubuntu forum. I find the folks over at ubuntuforums.org to be really helpful.

Good Luck
