Keyboard shortcut to unhide the dock?

well, title says it all, alternatively maybe a command to unhide the dock?

I would need it to link a gesture on a touchscreen PC to unhide the dock.

 

As a workaround I wrote some java code to move the mouse cursor to the edge of screen where the dock is. This is executed by a keyboard shortcut which is executed by the gesture. A solution with a hotkey or a command directly would be much more elegant and faster.

So anybody here: is it possible?
