Other options aside from Impulse

Hello all,

I've always run GalCiv2 on an old Windows 2k box and am returing to the game after a long hiatus.  Stardock Central is gone and it looks like Impulse is the replacement.  Trouble for me is that Impulse won't run on anything but XP and Vista.  Is there any other way to get patches aside from having Impulse installed?  Manually installation of patches and similar?

Maybe.

I do believe that you can still update up to DL v1.5, DA v1.80g and TA v1.96 using Stardock Central. I'm not positive about this but I was still able to do so as of early this year and I doubt they would take that ability away as long as you still happen to have SDC installed.

Note that to get to v2.x of anything definitely does require Impulse which is why I'm still at DL v1.5, DA v1.80g and TA v1.96.

Ah, Mumble, you should give Impulse a shot (unless your machine won't run it).

Of course, if you only play DL, it probably doesn't matter much.
