Securom Removal just got easier

The people at Reclaim Your Game have done a great favor for those of us that don't want SecuROM to still remain in our systems after uninstalling a game with that intrusive DRM:

"Securom Removal just got easier with the introduction of the Reclaim Your Game Securom Removal Batch file . It's purpose is to remove all remnants of SecuROM from your Windows system. 

As you would be aware, the SecuRom removal tool provided by Sony does not remove all SecuRom files and without completing the process properly, SecuRom will automatically reinstall itself on your pc. Until now we have had to manually remove each of these files, a process which can only be described as daunting for the average user."

I have a flight sim air racing game from a company that has long since disappeared.  It's one of those that has a CD-check routine of some type so that it won't run unless the CD is physically loaded in the drive.  I'd like to be able to run the game without the CD (in case it gets damaged or lost).  Is there a utility of any sort that will remove the CD-check routine?  Thanks in advance.

Hmm, that would have to be a nocd made specifically for that game.  There are some sites that host these nocds.  I dont know if its against the rules here to post them, they arent difficult to find anyways.  Just google the name of the game and nocd and youll be there. :)

Daiwa, you might want to look at Game Jackal by Slysoft. It works copying images to the games own profile (like a virtual disk). It works pretty good in conjunction with another product of theirs call Any DVD which strips protection schemes off DVDs and CDs (including Blue Ray) while in the tray.

Thanks very much to the poster for this.  I have a question for anyone who understands more about what securom does and how it gets installed:

There are a lot of games that I would love to play but don't because of this horrid protection scheme.  Spore is one that I would love to try out, along with many other EA games--C&C games and such.  Here is my question:

If after intalling the game I remove securom, will it just reinstall iteself by running the game's executable or will it only reinstall itself if I reinstall the game?

Just to let anyone interested know, Reclaim Your Game is also in the midst of actually doing an interview with Sony DADC (makers of SecuROM).

If the game runs you can assume it has reinstalled the securom stuff. Otherwise the check would not do it's job.
