Today is the day

Today is the day my boy Jake has an appointment with the pediatrician and psychologist to review his ADD score results.

I saw the questionnaire that his teacher completed; she scored him really high too.

So, we go talk to the professionals this afternoon and see what they want to do.

I've been given some hope by my friend Rob (Hi, Rob!!) who's son AJ also has ADD and recently started taking Concerta.  Rob says it's like night and day....but also says that he's been given the option of taking AJ off his meds on the weekends and school holidays.  That makes me happier, for some reason...

..anyway, I'm sure I'll be here later and I'll be filing you all in with the detais!

I am living proof that ADD kids do survive. I wasn't diagnosed until I was in High School, so I went untreated for quite a while. I have never taken meds for ADD, but when I was in school I am sure my teachers whished I had.

I had four children in my care last year and they were all suffering from diffrent degrees of ADD. On the two that were older (pre teens) the meds didn't make that much of a difference, but on the 7 and 9 year olds was a wonderful thing. I can say that taking them off of the meds wouldn't have been a good thing. It hellped keep thier body on the same schedule as their head. Although, I am not familiar with Concerta.
