Combine difrent themes into one ...

for private use only...

Hi all your creative geniuses ...

One question - what is the easyes and fastest way to combine, elements from difrent themes to one new redesigned theme? (it will only be used private, on my own computer - so I guess it is okay, with the maker of the themes if one uses them like these?)

- I have some understanding for how the themes work, but not that much, and I have played a little around with skinstudio, but not that much(it seams overwhelming), but I have a fair insights of computers in general ...

In awe

Basically u would have to import the images from each theme to the sections you want skinned by that theme's graphics... using Skinstudio.

Thnx for your reply man, that sounds messy however :s and like lots of work, since, skinstudio totally freaks me out (mabe my version is not new enough :s ) - also, some of the things I would like, is animated stuff, like animated buttons from one theme (minimazing, maximizin, closing windows), replacing the buttons in the them I am using ... had hoped there would be an easyer way .. Like a way to copy paste intire elements ...This solution sounds very time demanding, not sure I can find the time for it right now ...

But thanx for answering anyways ...

1. Buy the "InstantTheme" application from Stardock.

2. Think about what you want.

3. Push the "Go" button.

4. The Theme pops out the cup holder CD/DVD drive.

That's how all the great skinners do it. Don't let them tell ya any different.

1. I am not trying to become a great skinner - as I wrote, I am not even out to become a skinner, in fact that is EXCATLY what I am trying NOT to have to... LOOOL! I am only out to make a theme for my own private desktop, that suits my needs, I am not going to use 50-100 hours or more to do that, I am a grown man, not at kid, that has free time for this (I am not calling ppl that design themes for living, or is skinners for kids - I am just saing I have no intention to do this myself)!

2. The thing I am looking to do is realtive simple?! Making a theme from the bottom is not!! Combining several FULL elements from difrent skins, LIKE replacing, a title bar, or the WHOLE segment containing, the maximize, minimize, close buttons, from one theme with one from another!

All the best

No, it's not really.

the elements on different skins are different sizes, they got different margins set, each element has several components, etc

@Bichur ... had not taken those things into consideration ... but thnx for the answer man ...

@Vamp, thanx for your answer ...

Had hoped there was an easy, way to copy paste, whole sections, from one the to another, in skinstudio, or a difrent software, but can see it cant be done then, and that one, has to make an intire new skin? copypasting, AND adjusting, every single element, that sucks..

I will consider looking into it later then ... right now, I cant find the time to do that... but thnx for the answers ...

Best of luck for when you try. It might be a groundbreaking idea for skinstudio to use copy-paste, however it's too much futuristic.
