Questions for Frogboy

Hail mighty Frogboy, I just wanted to as some questions about Elemental.

1. Will you be leading the development team for Elemental?

2.How many people are going to be working Elemental on the developers side of things?

3.How is Elemental going to push the envelope for Stardock?

4. Is Elemental going to be developed just by Stardock or are you going to be use another developer like Iron Clad?

5. And finally what are you hopes for Elemental?

Since GalCiv 1 and 2 are some of my fav games I just wanted to see what kind of effort is being put into your games. The way i see is if developer just spend time working on the game as a whole the little details might suffer, but from you dev posts I can see you guys are doing a good job so far.

will be leading?   You know the development of elemental has been going on for quite some time now, right?  I heard about Elemental (it wasn't call that of course) before Sins of a Solar Empire come out and they were working on a game called "Society".   That should answer question number 4 as well.  Stardock was the publisher of demigod and Sins.  For Elemental, they are the developer in its entirity.   I feel like number 3 and 5 have already been answered through the dev journals, but I'm not about to speak for Frogboy.

The future tense of everything just drove me nuts, I had to comment.  My job as a forum troll demanded it.  (They should be in past tense or present tense.)   I mean the beta comes out in about a month...   It might as well be released in relevance to the questions posted.

Considering Brad's still tied up in Demigod-land, I'll attempt to answer some of these for him (expanding on what Landisaurus said):

1.  No.  BoogieBac will.

2.  I believe around 10.  That doesn't include temporary or outside contractors.

3. Lots of ways.  Read the dev journals.  Some topics I can think of: a sophisticated economy system, created for modding, allowing for player-created content and sharing, sophisticated multiplayer including epic online games and an AI that can join in multiplayer game with stats, multiple open Betas, etc.

4. Stardock created, stardock published

5. Lots of things.  See the dev journals.

Only 1 month to go before Beta 0!

For what it is worth, I would consider directing those questions at BoogieBac given he is the project lead.

Thanks everyone. I glad I could get some answers I wanted. It nice to see a company willing to speak about how things are run. I just hope Frogboy answers too!

As Lord Reliant said, he's pretty busy with Demigod. So don't get your hopes up too high.

And BoogieBac has been pretty quiet, generally letting Frogboy do his posts.  Hopefully we'll get another update from the dev team on their progress/ideas with Elemental soon!  I just hope Demigod hasn't sapped out all of their progress.  At least they were ahead of pace with Elemental before that whole unfortunate mess started.  I'm hopeful this all will only make Stardock a better company and Elemental a better product.

Fortunately for Stardock, altough all this mess with Demigod's MP is bad, it has the benefit of allowing Stardock to learn about MP which is something they really need/want. Be it for Elemental's MP (no matter how single palyer focused it is) and/or Society (and any other next game they develop or help with).
