Cant get Deskscape to run (Windows XP)

Hey I bought Deskscapes and it downloaded through impulse but apparently I had the demo installed too. It would not uninstall through Impulse (It would say it was and then 3 seconds later say "Installed") So i had to kill explorer (it had one of the dll's in the Deskscapes folder loaded) and then delete the deskscapes folder. Now I cant get Impulse to redownload it even though I put the key in and it accepted it.

First, completly uninstall Deskscapes. I recommend using Revo uninstaller  LINK Then open Impulse and click on the orb(top left) and select Preferences. The click on Reset Data and close Impulse. Reopen Impulse and try to  download and register DS again.

If that fails you may want to repost this in the support forum and/or contact Stardock support by e-mail. This is a user-based forum and while support does read these threads, that is the "official" support channel. Good Luck.

DeskScapes on XP requires a lot in the way of video horsepower that several XP machine do not have.  Make sure you have at least an AGP 8x video card (PCI-E is better) and have the absolute latest drivers for it.

Curt...That still doesn't work. I have all that and all I can run is the spinning stardock cube.....Weeee. XD

Hmm.  Do the included Watercolor, water, and Desktop earth dreams work for you as well? Or is it just the cube?  If all of these work, it may be a codec issue, as these are all dynamic dreams, not pre-rendered video.  If this is the absolute only dream file that will run, it sounds like a bad install and a verify through Impulse would be my next suggestion.

Yeah...those kinda work. Tried different codecs packages none of which seemed to really be any different.

Hello, I'm joining with similar problem. After installing Deskscapes on my Windows XP I can't see any Deskscapes tab in Display Properties. I bought it so I want to use it. My video card is Geforce 6800 XT (128Mb AGP 8x, latest drivers) DirectX 9 updated. What's going on?! Feel free to answer @ piotr waldemar [at] gmail [dot] com.
