Current Object Desktop subscribers now have access to the latest MyColors premium skin called ‘Ankh’.   This smooth theme includes a complete visual style for Windows XP and Vista with a real “ancient” Egyptian feel.  Also included is a pack of icons that have some amazing detail.

If you are an Object Desktop subscriber, you will find this MyColors theme available in the My Software area of Impulse.  If you don’t have Impulse installed already, you can get it from here.

For my purposes and at the present time, Stardock.  More skins, more diversity in style, MOST of the time there's the option of personalizing/customizing/altering (with the exception of encrypted skins...I know, I'm a big cry baby, but I'm new at skinning, and there is nothing for me to learn from encrypted skins), and there's this wonderful group of skinners to help me along the learning journey.

TSF has outstanding skins for the market demographic they are catering to.  I just don't happen to be in that demographic (I'm a middle-aged female dork, not a young male geek).

Correct....and for a Customization site, that is a contradiction (not your comment...offering a non customizable skin).

CCdeQueen,what sort of trouble are you having? If you would like some help,all you have to do is ask. That's what the community is here for,and if we can't fix it,there is always support available.

It is a wonderful theme and I'd like to see you enjoy it,so what do you say,fix it or forget it?:sun:

@CCdeQueen: Why give up? I wouldn't let anything beat me...it's software and so it can be fixed. I had big problems with Impuls/MyColors/WB but friends tried to help me, and SD support tried as well.

Why not avail yourself of help freely and gladly given? Seems a real waste to just walk away when lotsa folks want to help.  :)

Even with the minor flaws it is a great theme and I love it. Ya'll need to keep in mind it is FREE!

I appreciate the vote of confidence. I have submitted the problem, yet again to Stardock support and I have an open "ticket" Meantime Impulse will not update any software for me because it doesn't recognize the fact that I renewed my Object Desktop, Ultimate Edition on Jan 9, 2009. At the rate I am going, I will be due for renewal again before I get anything for this years money! Sorry, but this is extremely irritating.

CC...if that's the issue, Support and sales should be talking (I think). In any event: you are entitled to every update of every software item up to the date of expiration of your subscription....yes, you aren't getting that pleasure right now, but have you ever been on Stardock irc? Don't use your numbers there, but early in the a.m. there are support people there and you can give then your email/dates of subscription (just no key numbers)...give them your ticket number...and call up sales...sounds like maybe you need help from both ends.

At any rate, please pm me the ticket number and outline the problem and I'll try to help you come Monday morning, mate. OK?

That's when the folks at Stardock will be coming to work.

I am not sure how I did it, but I finally got impulse to recognize the update. As we speak, I have a long list of software updates waiting to download and (wonder of all wonders) the Ankh theme! Thanks for the support. If I waited for my Stardock "ticket", I'd be here another 4 months.

I can't find Ankh in inpulse. I try everything and nothing seems to work. I just renew my desktop subscription today. I guess I won't renew no more. They got my last dollar from me.  (:(  X-(

I may be wrong but I believe the free themes are released for current ODNT subscribers. If you renewed after it was released,it may not be available to you. You may want to contact sales and see if this is the case. Maybe they can help you out.

Great theme!! I can't get the folder icons to work. The empty folders are showing correctly, but the icons for the other folders, which have contents, are showing a black front. I have tried the usual things, rebooted, re-applied the theme and rebooted, 'rebuild icon cache', 'repair icon images', etc. Nothing is working. I've even used the customize icon function from the 'properties' context menu to change one individual icon. Any suggestions how to get the icons to display properly? Thanks
