Dota is popular, yes...but for the most part your figures are way off.  And you're a little crazy to boot..hmm..how 'bout that?

Garena has 11 million players, if you noticed I didn't say all 11 million players played Dota, did I? I said 6 million players played Dota. Garena also supports other games such as CS. You sir don't know shit even if it fell abruptly into your hands. Also to the other poster calling my post arogant, are you speaking for the DG community?

I've seriously encountered a handful of people I thought could be maphacking over the years. If people are using it as prevelently as you say they're REALLY shitty at it. There is literally no way for him to know where I was at since I'd been foresting for a bit and his entire team was mid lane. But bam, grapple to the exact pixel I'm at and exploded. I was standing in a weird spot no one actually goes to and she or anyone had'nt seen me for about 30 seconds. Now I can't prove either of them cheated, it just felt fishy.

 

Part of me has always wanted to get some hacks and once people start accusing me of something I'm not just turn it on and be like "well I wasn't before but it's time to reap the fucking whirlwind now". People accuse other people of shit all the time with zero evidence.

Then guinsoo took it over, but you forgot that part so maybe you're not as versed in the history as you let on =P The bottom line is HE'S 1 DUDE AND HE'S THE ONLY DUDE WORKING ON THE GAME TODAY. This is a fact which can not be disputed. You seem to be fighting saying that's not true for some reason.


 

Dude, you're only making yourself look bad by pretending map hacking doesnt go on in Dota. It may not in outiside areas/private servers, but it does on Bnet. At any rate, I'm sick of arguing with a fan boy. You keep on raging against the machine and worshiping Icefrog in your time capsule, the rest of us will move on with civilization.

but tbh , if someone knows im coming it can be map awareness , just like i know when im about to get ganked .

but in most cases people who maphack suck anyways , theyre never gonna learn things like map awareness and they rely on their maphack to win , which wont make them take in and learn that much of the game.

Doesn't really need to speak for the community, just the people that don't play dota anymore because of people like you and your lame ass post. Grats, you can post numbers you pulled out of your ass (because thats what you did, and you admitted it 'well theres this many people on garena so maybe...yea 6 mill.....'). Any SD/GPG/DG forum admins that happen upon this forum just delete this guys posts cause he will just get what he wants,  some stupid flame war between Dota and DG. I used a fun little program called starcrap poop war all the time in Starcraft back in the day. I never for a second said it didnt exist. I don't think they're anywhere near as prevelent as you seem to think they are. But maybe you're one of the ones screaming map hack and leaving a game from a good facerolling. I said if people are using them as much as you claim they suck shit at using them. Hacks don't do you very good when you still get your shit tossed in games. Kind of defeats the purpose doesnt it? People in DotA, for some reason, expect you to memorize all the item combinations before even daring to join a game with other people. I joined a "noobs only" game and some idiot still went crazy over me standing a little too long in the base looking at the items. He said I should play with AI first...

 

It seems even the people who consider themselves so bad so as to join a noobs only game still feel entitled to swear. If they're so much better, why don't they go play in another, non-noobs game?

Warcraft 3 resolution and graphics are not.

Same with most of the retard DOTA crowd. I can never get my friends to play it since they get flamed when they try to play online.

I don't think I'll be going back to Warcraft III anytime soon.  Dota was great and I loved it.  A review I read comparing Demigod to Dota is pretty much the reason I picked up Demigod in the first place.  That said, I think schinstad said it pretty well.  Dota is awesome, but the graphics and resolution are dated.  What's awesome is that Blizard put the tools in place so users could create something so great.  Perhaps we'll see a map builder/char designer at some point here as well. 

So, new version of Dota comes out, I'll probably be here playing Demigod.
