Stardock, is this really your way to handle criticism?

Stardock, is this really your way to handle criticism?

If so, it is rather poor. :(

well you can read, what we wrote.

Basically, Zock and me have the opinion, that GPGnet is working better than Impulse/Demigod-System. This was all we had said in this chat.

Then Frogboy, who I would have thought to be a qualified employee of Stardock, just insulted us, and few seconds later, we both were banned from chat and still are.

Is this how you cannot even say your opinion in a chat? this is really.. rather ridiculous to me. I really am thinking about, if I still want to buy and support this game, after my demo key runs out.

Arguments of GPGnet being better in current state than impulse are plenty. I can list them, if you want.

Still.. i think banning us for saying something criticising... is a way too much.

Thank you for your time.

Sure it looks like you found Mr Frog at a bad moment, but what did you expect to happen?  Looked liked more of a rant than a criticism, and it was on their own chat server...

From the sounds of it Brad can handle criticism fine, what he doesn't like is people ranting about something when they don't really understand the details of what they are complaining about.

what of this would you call ranting?

Saying impulse is anything but a clunky system is stupidity or ignorance.

In which case 90% of people on this forum are stupid and ignorant.  Take YOUR pick mate.

Quoting gryeyes, reply 9What kind of advice is that. Be careful or this company will refuse to sell you their niche products? Please grow up. Saying impulse is anything but a clunky system is stupidity or ignorance. Take your pick.

Niche Products? I see to recall some mainstream games available on Impulse. Clunky System? Ah no. Steam's overlay not working half the time within games. Games that work fine outside of Steam, buggy as hell in Steam. Anything else?

Valve's games sell millions of copies. Corporations allow themselves to be taxed by Valve for the priveldge to use Steam as its method of distribution and host. Impulse attempts to directly mimick steams layout and functionality. Nope thats about it thanks for playing!

Funny, same with Impulse. However, Impulse is a hell of a lot more user-friend then Steam. As of September of 2008, Sins had sold more then 500k copies. Not sure what the final number was, maybe some one can enlight us, along with the numbers of copies sold of Gal Civ 2.

Yeah, Valve is a big company, but sometimes they let it get to their heads when they start making sub-par products and people still by them like crazy due to the name, i.e. Blizzard.

Maybe I came off a little on the harsh side. What I meant is there is no good to come from bringing an IRC thing and continuing it here in attempt to gain support against of all people the CEO of the company. I have plenty of criticisms towards certain aspects of things involving SD, I just try to know when and where to say them. :)

Not sure what issues you've had with Impulse but I have bought and own a plethora of products through it and have had no trouble since the first month it was out. I admit I haven't messed with any of it's multiplayer stuff, but for what I use it for I like it better than Steam. Just wish it had Steam's Voice chat system.

spooky, i never said we should use gpgnet.
But that's what it says in your screenshot.

OH NO YOU DIDN'T. DON'T GO THERE GIRLFRIEND.

no, it seems you're understanding me wrong. I just said GPGnet is better, never mentioned using it for demigod.

Frogboys question then forced us to say yes, but well, he should have asked, who thinks GPGnet is at its current state better than impulse :P

Someone clue me in here.  I don't mind that he calls someone an idiot, but I don't see why he is an idiot for suggesting that GPGNET was better than Impulse.  From the customer end of things, GPGNET worked much better.  I never had connection issues getting into a game and the matching was quick and responsive.  Here of course we are looking at 8 people getting into a matching game, so there is a difference.  The only downside to me of GPGNET was the patching.  Nothing like logging on and having to patch / relaunch / patch / relaunch ten times.

Oh and P.S. good job coming to the forums to cry.

Ok, you just confirmed that nothing you say has merit. Thanks for verifying. Valve and Blizzard both are known for their impecable record in releasing polished products that they will support to the end of days. Sub-par products hahah.

Well, that's kinda hard to believe now. He clearly asked you, "who thinks we should have used GPGnet" and you said "I am". This is pretty unambiguous ;). Nothing forced you to say "I am", except telling the truth. Unless you are liar of course!

Ah well :P

You replied "and me" when he asked who was saying they should have used GPGNet, therefore: you think GPGNet should have been used for Demigod.

You also don't mention the fact that you accused Frogboy and Stardock of not using GPGNet because they wanted a system that "fails even more".

You outright claim that Frogboy and Stardock don't care about their customers.  I think that counts as a personal attack.  That is probably why you got banned.

Also, can anyone provide a log of what happened before this so we can see what happened as the OP is outright lying in the initial post.

The issue is calling the people who feed your children and pay your employees idiots. I promise a vast majority of your customers are retarded in some fashion. Disrespecting them in that manner does nothing but hurt your company.

well you seem too know more than i do. Where exactly did I claim "Stardock dont care about their customers"?

Flys are annoying, but they can buzz around people and annoy them all they want, and usually only get ignored or shoed away.  But if your an annoying fly, then you get what you deserve if you keep buzzing around the head frog.  *tounge-flick, gulp".

I really disliked the extra Episodes of Half Life 2, it was short and fluff. Half Life 2 when it first came out was bug ridden as well. Team Fortress was in the works for years. I do mean YEARS. L4D was created by Turtle Rock, and once the SDK comes out the player base will pump out content like crazy, just like the Counterstrike community did.

Blizzard... Don't get me started. World of Warcraft. Starcraft 2, split into 3 different campaigns sold separately.

There is a difference between caring about your customers and gouging the crap out of your customers.

There's a difference between fans and fanboys.

You are mouthing off like a child who learned something then thinks he knows everything, you then get a man who has been working crazy hours, high stress conditions to try and get things working and you're suprised that he bites when you do the pushing.

I'm sure I speak for most of SD's fans when I say just shut up.

I wonder how well do you handle criticism especially something you put a lot hard work into? I do agree frogboy could have handle this better but who does  handle criticism in the best manner 100% of the time?

Frogboy: Why do you think we didn't use GPGNet?

You: cos you did want something that fails even more

You claim Stardock set out to fail on purpose.

Any company that sets out to fail can't care about their customers.  If they did care, they wouldn't be trying to fail.

Therefore, claiming Stardock set out to fail on something is claiming Stardock doesn't care about their customers.

That is about the biggest insult you can give Frogboy, as anyone who has been on Stardock's forums for a while will tell you.
