influence?

i found in galciv1 that inflence seemed a tad extreme in that you would lose a planet(s) reasonably easily i would have preferred a system
where your population would migrate over time and if left unchecked would get very low to a point where the planet would defect, a side affect would be pop happiness would naturaly increase as pop decreaed due to less overcrowding, thus giving you more time to remedy the problem, also the race exerting the superior influence would have to be careful their pop didnt increase too rapidly and cause a problem for themselves this would lessen the aspect of having to put a lot of time and resources into that aspect of the game( unless of cause thats the type of option the player wanted for that particluar game), so those of us who wanted to focus more on conquering planets by force could do so just a thought!!
