Demigod Install Key problem?

Hey,

I just tried installing Demigod, and everything was fine with the initial install. However, when I logged into Impulse, and tried to register my product key that came with my box, so I could update, I recieve an error message that reads "Product Registration Failed: The email or serial number you entered is invalid." I know for a fact that my email entered is the same as the one I've registered SoaSE to, and I've checked the code that I've entered about 50 times, so I know that it's right.

Is this a problem with my email, or did I just get a bad key with my game copy, and if so, how do I go about fixing this/getting a valid key?

Username is the same as my forum name.

Thanks in advance.

I have this same problem.  I bought the retail version from Best Buy.  Key label has the header "Take Two Interactive" with a 35 letter/number key (including the dashes) on the back of my rulebook.  Typed it in several times, lower case, and verified that I have done it correctly several times.  No luck.

Help?

same with mine from wal-mart. this is pretty much par for the course from anything associated with stardock. all kinds of serious problems associated with the mandatory extra software they make you install. everything from spam emails to cd keys not working. i dont know why game publishers use them.

Yea, I am having the problem as well :P. Got mine from GameStop. I tried uninstalling/reinstalling both Impulse and DemiGod. Tried a new account on Impulse, and still nothing! I hope they fix this soon lol.

I also got mine from Walmart...this is not making me pleased with this Stardock company one bit...I had a similar problem when I got Red Alert 3...but EA doesn't suck too too bad so it was actually fixed within the first day of the games release...we are technically on day 3 now...

I see this as an opportunity to get better lol. I figure playing against the hardest difficulty then playing against people may be a good idea. But, playing with people (and most importantly, friends) is by far more fun. I am hopeful that they will fix the problem soon.

and yes, I know this is a rather optomistic view of the progression of this saga.

If you have serial issues, please talk directly to [email protected]. They can look to see if that particular serial is valid - and if not, start asking our distributor questions. Saying "well I have a serial but it doesn't work" isn't something that can be solved by those here.

I would suggest including a scan or photo of your reciept as proof of purchase of the game.

In other words, don't post this issue in a public forum where others might read about it and not buy the game because of it.

 >_<

Getting really irritated here, I bought this game to play, not fight with.

Much, if not all of the serial number trouble should be resolved now. If you had trouble entering the serial number within Impulse before, please try again. Be sure to not enter in the letter O as we do not use it in our serial numbers (this happens quite a bit, it should be a zero). If you still have trouble, send us an email at [email protected] with the serial you are attempting to use.

i just need a serial numbre

buy the game and you will get one

no, in other words a public forum can't help you with serial number issues except to make suggestion in regards to things like:

 O or o vs 0

a public forum can't help you with issues such as 'whoever you bought it from still has an active electronic account by which they are keeping the game therefore rendering your 3rd pary purchasing into little 'you were ripped' off piece'

an open forum can't determine if some guy at a retail store may be opening boxed set of stuff, stealing the numbers and selling them on line, then repackaging to sell you something already technically sold and in use

an open forum can't determine if the printing/packaging company screwed up and printed useless serials or if something glitched and they printed the same 10 serials over and over and over

etc

in other words support can't deal with a particular serial issue without the particular serial in question and you really don't want to post it here so somebody else can get your number registered and working before you can, so direct contact with support is the best venue if you have a serial issue

i am having a similar problem. where can you find the game's serial number? it is not the product key code is it? i do not want to hear that if i buy the game, i will get the serial/registration number because i have bought three games entitled demigod, sins of a solar empire, and galactic civilizations 2 ultimate edition, and i have no idea where to find the serial/registration numbers. where are they located? there are numbers located under the product key code, but they do not work either. there are no numbers on the game discs.there is a 7 digit number on the top of each game box; however, it does not work either. just tell me where to find these numbers!!!!!

Most likely yes, it is. For Demigod, Sins, and GalCiv 2 Ultimate, it will be a 30 character code in 6 groups of 5.  Make sure that you enter the dashes, and that you use only 0-9 and A-F.
