Banned because you only need the drops if you let things get out of hand.
My mom nursed at a VA and one of her most frequent not-a-crisis patient types were guys who were convinced they'd gone deaf, but all the needed was to have those drops and a vigorous ear irrigation. If you can remember to use just warm water and the squeezy-bulb once every month or two, you don't need to bother with drops or nurses.
