So, Limey, you are/were in the military?
Everybody has this conception that I'm in the army! Why!?!
First off, I'm 15, so banned because I couldn't possibly be legally in most Western armies.
Anyway, this conception appears to stem from my many exploits in the Combined Cadet Force which I attend. This is an organisation sort-of like scouts, but more military. For instance, we learn weapons drills, learn various other skills associated with the armed forces, participate in blank-firing maneuvers, participate in live-firing on ranges, annually go to train on army bases with army instructors (obviously not to the level that real soldiers train to because we're not real soldiers, we're teenagers in a cadet force), and occasionally go on exercise at MOD training areas, which means several days and nights conducting a blank-firing war on whatever militia/terrorist group those above have decided to create for us. The RAF division of my CCF gets to go flying as well. I don't because I'm not RAF, but nonetheless... Basically you do loads of stuff which the army does when training in a more controlled and less serious environment, because nobody's potentially getting killed if you fuck up (usually, there's some stories to that one). Anyway, it's great fun and even better for someone like me who wants to join the army of whatever country they end up in. Thank you for your time.
