The problem i see here is that people that hate stardock are unwilling to see from other people views. And stardock fanboys are unwilling to look from other peoples views. I personally think that any additional software ie: Impulse, steam etc is stupid and useless i don't care if it makes patching easier thats what the hundreds of download sites are for. I don't want more crap on my computer then there already is when i install a game i ONLY want the game i don't want to go through layer upon layer of "registrations" to "make my gaming experience as fun as possible." I personally support steam a little more since they actually make good games and have a good community and its a tad easier to manage and install games. But i still don't like the fact that i have to install some crap on my computer to be able to play a game.

To play multiplayer you do... which is most of the fun i get.

I stated this elsewhere, but I'll do so here as well.  I'm not seeing a coordinated attack on Stardock.  All I see are exactly two people with agendas and bad manners doing a bit of trolling. 

Then there are those who disagree with Stardock or don't like one aspect or another, but that's hardly an attack.  If someone doesn't like Impulse, they're entitled to that opinion.  Wrong as it may be. 

Overall, it looks like the customer satisfaction is incredibly high.  In at least the 90+ percentile range.  Probably higher.

I'd say congratulations to Stardock for maintaining such a loyal and happy customer base.  You're doing something right.

Personally, I have no complaints regarding any of my purchases. Our corporate users are even getting cool stuff bundled with some of their new Dell systems, of which I exclusively buy for our non-process users.  (Sorry, but only custom builds on the production line).

Even some who don't like one thing or another keep coming back to buy stuff here.  That has to count for something, no?

Charvel are you really that retarded that you need a program to keep games updated and organized? Also i WANT a cd i want a real object in my hand that won't get screwed up that won't somehow "forgot" my purchase. And it is Intrusive i don't want to have a useless program that only serves to update my game and "keep them organzied" I mean seriously is it that hard to host patches here or keep you games organzied. Charvel when you actually find something useful to say please by all means, but please calling me a "big baby" isn't going to change anything.

Maybe I'm the only one who doesn't want extra crap on my computer doing things that i could do better and faster. And even if this is only 1 program there are so many other games that require other "slave" programs for them to be played mulitplayer or updated. And i frankly am sick of tired of the crap. I don't care if Impulse is really the most amazing program ever made until it can mow my lawn and do my work i don't want it.

Ditto.  I also like the idea that if I lose my CD/DVD and computer in some unforeseen incident, (fire, flood, burgulary, evaporation, etc.), I can simply log on with another computer and download everything I ever bought with Impulse.  That's a level of security that I can appreciate. 

I'd like to make that an official feature request.  I'd even pay a $60.00 fee to download the lawn being mowed per use.

1) Keeps all your games (Stardock and others) organized in one place

2) Automatically sends you an update when there is one available for your game

3) Wipes your nose for you when you're crying. Just wipe it on your computer screen and Impulse magically picks it up.

4) Turns your computer on when you aren't aware and uses your webcam to take pictures of you crying and sends those back to Stardock so they can all get a good laugh.

5) Tracks all of your online purchases and sends a log back to Stardock.

6) Keeps track of your personal and financial information and sends it, in an encrypted package for your security, back to Stardock for their safekeeping.

7) Tracks all of your online browsing and sends you advertisements for Stardock products.

8) Locks up your computer if you try to accidentally uninstall anything from Stardock.

9) Alerts Stardock when you've been away from the computer for too long for personal/family or business reasons so they can send a rep to your house to fix the problem for you.

What is there not to love about this tiny program?

You don't have to install Impulse. Dowload the game then uninstall it, or just go to BestBuy and pick up whatever it is you are looking for the old-fasioned way. Although I think Charvel has better things to do with his/her bandwidth than go around insulting everyone, I have to agree that you should probably tone it down a little.

Charvel thank you for givin me a reasonable response. What you said in your middle paragraph is exactly WHY i don't like impulse, thats why all my computers are custom builds so i control whats put on it. Once my cousin came from Turkey and he was complaining his comp was slow at the laptop itself actually was pretty powerful, enough to run most game. SO i decided to take a look at it, there were over 20 "trial" programs random shit that came Bundled with it i mean its no wonder people always complain that they're computers are horrible when its only 1 year old they never clean it.  (also as Charvel said CCleaner really is a great program.)

I personally odn't care about DRM if there is DRM ill go crack it. I spent hard earned money on something and i want it be mine with no strings attached not limited installations no nothing. It doesn''t prevent pirating and will never prevent it i mean there were pirated versions of Cryisis and Spore the day they came out. DRM doesn't do crap so why install malware on your computer?

The reason I've railed against Impulse so much it is not a very well designed program, now before you skip reading the rest and post about how stupid i am. Think for a moment how much of the fact you think its a good program comes from the fact that it just looks pretty? Being pretty is all very well and good but frankly Impulse has many useablilty problems and just because you haven't had any doesn't mean there aren't if you want a list of whats wrong with it from my experience please ask.

Im not a big fan of Steam ethier but Charvel why don't you like steam but like impulse? I mean if its quality of service then think for a moment how many users does impulse have as apposed the steam steam has millions upon millions of users from all corners of the world some of which are only there to make everyones life diffuclut and out of the 5 years of using steam i have had times where i wished that i could just take back all the money i used on steam. But most of the time it did everything i wanted. No misplacing of CD keys, No causing "errors" , maybe some slow downs but overall it works great. The site is organized and easy to navigate and understand everything does what it looks like it should. Now i guess that i shouldn't be talking about steam because just as Charvel like Impulse i like steam so ia guess that arguement is moot but whatever.

I guess the point im attempting to make is that all these things add up " oh one more registration." Is something ive said too many times for too many games. (Although Sins was worth it.) All these "20mb" Files add up and bog down the system. And whenever i install some of these it always attempts to install other "trial" programs with it which is also annoying.

I guess in the end my arguement isn't with Impulse as much as all the programs that force you to register and all that. And i also apolgize to Charvel for coming off as just another "Impulse hater." But i still think you should get a shirt that says "i impulse."
